Nostradamus's quatraines were so broad that many things could be read into them. As for the patriot act, I have not lost any freedoms because of it. If the government wants to tap my phone they still have to get a warrant signed by a Judge. I don't plan on committing a Felony or any of the few misde...

WD-40 is great stuff for about everything except guns. It penetrates so good that it can get into your ammunition primers. The end result of that is you pull the trigger and nothing happens.... Not good.

You can carry any folder. But if the blade locks open it can not be carried concealed with the blade open. Also you can not carry a fixed blade concealed.

I have been using the mini cd's for several years. I have a Sony digital camera that burns pictures directly to them. They have finally gotten cheap, about .29 cents each. I also use them at work to make boot disks that are not a pain to carry.

If i'm just moving data I use the USB drives.

It is legal for Peace Officers in California to carry auto knives if thier Department has a policy that permits it. I think it is covered under Penal Code Section 12001.

Thanks for all the replies. Sal, I appreciate your input. I hadn't thought about a good folder too. I think I will try to find him a tan native. Since i'm sure he will be living in some desert in the near future. You all had some great advice on the fixed blades. Now it's time to do my homework.

Knife for real combat.

My son is about to head off to Ranger school. I know the Army issues OK knives to the Rangers, but I want to get him something a whole lot better than OK. Any suggestions for a good fixed blade? I am leaning towards a Benchmade Nimravus.

California outlawed switchblades in 1957. It was a result of the movies of the time. The California definition of a switchblade is any knive with a blade length over 2 inches that is opened by a press of a button, gravity, or by flicking the wrist. The law was amended a few years ago to specifically...
