These two arrived yesterday. The DFly is in my pocket while the Spydiechef is on my desk so I can fidget with it.

Re: In praise of the wharncliffe Endura
I was a little surprised to see how the knife would "drift" to the right when cutting the plastic bucket. Is that caused due to the chisel grind on the SE models?

Re: rockjumper
A Leafjumper though with 5 or 6 mm more edge could really challenge my beloved Stretch 1 in its role for me... Why do you think this is? The handles seem fairly similar. Is it that the tip of the blade will be lower? The lack of the choil? Guess I'm surprised that something could top the Stretch 1 ...

Re: CTS BD1N Contoured PM2
Perhaps this was me indeed ;), though I would not say that the LW version of models are actually way better for me than the (more blocky) G10 variants. But still better - noticeable at the least. Is this true for the Golden models as well? I've heard some criticisms that the Seki models have better...

Re: i found them!!!
As of Wednesday evening, there were some Spydiechefs in the Spyderco warehouse. No idea where they are headed though. they aren't on the website. i keep calling and they won't sell me any. :( I sent a knife in for warranty stuff. Turns out it can’t be fixed. I requested a Spydiechef as a replacemen...

Re: CTS BD1N Contoured PM2
Looks like there is a new milling pattern which (potentially) tricks the eyes into seeing a contoured surface. Looks great whatever it is.

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
Well just lost my second Spyderco. If anyone finds a Rex 45 Shaman with burnt orange scales let me know. Has been found and returned! They found it attached to the snow fence I rolled up when moving it in the storage unit yesterday to set up for another event! Other than getting a few new rust pits...

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
Two knives are coming (one might be on back order), but I will feel good about my collection after they arrive. Really, I don't need these other two knives (but I want them). That said, the Ayoob and Performance Delica have caught my attention. So I am going to spend about a month in Texas for the h...

Re: Sprint Runs of Obscure Models Maybe???
I’m sure the Nilakka didn’t sell all that well with its reputation for being too “brittle”. People like DBH have been working hard at informing people about the benefits of geometry and how to use a knife like that. I think you will find a more receptive audience for a Nilakka sprint. Plus it looks ...

Re: Sprint Runs of Obscure Models Maybe???
I like the idea of a Nilakka in AEB-L. I’ve always liked the Starmate, but the Golden version with the hollow ground blade and the medallion in the handle.

Re: G10 Urban
That is good to know, Patrick. Thanks for the heads up. Is it the pivot the "D" profile, similar to the one used on the Chap? I've run into those before when making scales on certain Spydercos. I can usually get around that by using the liner side that has round holes vs. the liner side w...

Re: G10 Urban
I’ve had my eye on one of those in FRN for a while now. Been thinking about buying it and making G-10 scales for it… I know that some versions (like the AEB-L sprint that I own) have a spinning pivot (not by design) but is only tooled on one side. I'd verify that before making a purchase. To be cle...

Drop point Stretch. Sounds like the Straight Spine variant is popular.

Re: Dear owners of Spyderco s90v knives
I've read, heard and found from my own experience that it keeps an edge like nobodies business and it can take a mirror edge but it doesn't last as long as a lower grit, "toothier" edge. Is there a steel that does better with a polished edge? All of the anecdotal stories here seem to sugg...

For the Chap Salt, do you make the liners out of TI or do you DLC the normal steel liners? Does it make a difference?

Re: Endura 4 ZDP-189
Knives Plus has a section called "Boss's Collection" where they sell BNIB knives that have been discontinued. It is quite the collection, though some are quite expensive. They have a HAP40 Endura.
