Re: What Are You Driving / Have Driven?

Yamaha 100cc twin, Yamaha 350 twin, couple BSA and Triumphs, a Royal Enfield Meteor, and a '36 HD UlH, and a junkyard HD KH - mates and I used top buy old bikes to fix up, sell, and then buy more old bikes... First car was a Datsun 12...

Re: Superstrings and Rock Eating Worm Creature Found.
Superstring theory is based on supersymmetry. Supersymmetry is a theory that proposes a relationship between the two basic classes of particles: bosons, and fermions. ie.a superstring would include both fermions and bosons in its spectrum. Supersymetry can be seen as a way to allow for ajnd explain t...

Re: Some more future science speculation.
Interesting speculation on gravitons.. indeed, no proof for there existence, but theorists suggest that the would be a massless boson similar in function to the Higgs, and act as the mediator for the force that is gravity. That would pretty much rule out their use in material sciences, but imagine i...

Hmm. Like all these types of topics- There's several leaps required in capabilities needed to go from "I've proved the possibility on my white board" to "I've done this on my lab bench in a petri-dish" to "I'm able to make enough of this for low scale testing" to "...

Re: Mountains, Mountain Climbing, Mountain Living
I have heard it said that some mountainous areas are among the most stable of areas in the world to live in, especially places like West Virginia, and the Ozarks of Missouri, and the Rocky Mountains of the Northwest USA and Canada, and various alpine mountains in Europe. Is that true? stable? perha...
