The BM4200 is also an Axis locked auto...

However you are right about the assisted opener part.

I have one...

It is similar in lay out, to the Yojimbo. As you might imagine, there is a reason for that.

It is a nice refinded knife, feels good, cuts well. Many are bummed it did not have an axis lock, but the liner lock is quite beefy. The two tone G-10 is nice.

I like mine.

You may want to consider aluminum for the handle. I doubt you would see a FRN auto, and you can make a G-10, but aluminum would be the norm. Coil fired auto, thank you. An auto (or even double action) version of the Police, the Military, or even the Rescue makes a ton of sense. All would have a mark...

$200 for a flashlight is insane. I guess it would be good for on the job work. But for EDC or to leave around the house. Why $200 here in NYc i stills ee cops with there 4 cells and sometimes even 6. They are heavy. These lights would be good for them, Yes, and they still shoot 9mm in NYC too don't...

I did that with a Z2 I have (KL3 head). I was not as impressed with it as I would have liked. My L1 farway outpreforms it. Also, those LED conversion heads ain't cheap either!

However it is an option.

The advantage of LED's over regular bulbs is run-time and the fact that LED's have an unlimited life (ie. don't burn out). The difference you will notice is this... When it comes to white light (you can get the LED's in other colors; red, green, blue) you will notice that the LED is VERY white, and ...

Well, I will report from the South end of the state (Cincinnati)... It snowed in the evening and overnight, not too much to speak of... The last two weeks we had really nice Sundays, (and since we had a very non-Spring like March) we have everyone skipping out on Church on the last two Sunday mornin...

What is with the huge tower like thing sticking off the top of the blade? The knife would look cool if that was gone IMHO :) .

Is this used for something?

If we told you, we would have to kill you... ;)

Well, no one has brought this up... A "Skirmish" is a small battle... A "Manix" as far as I can tell, was a 70's detective show... Is it just me, or do you always think of that old TV show everytime you see this knife's name? :D On names alone, the Skirmish tends to scare me more...

Me... I a pastor/clergy/minister (take your pick of your title :D ) I enjoy martial arts, and have been into knives since the late 1980's. I have literally hundreds of knives. My two favorite "brands" are Benchmade and Spyderco (I have about 25-30 different Spydies off the top of my head)....

Also, cable tie your knife to the frame of the suitcase. This works well with Spyderco's since you have a hole in the blade to run the cable tie through. This will not make it impossible to steal your knife, but it will make it a bit harder. You should have no trouble with a knife in CHECKED bagage,...

Even though the Karambit started as a "tool", I think the tasks it was good at are not as common (ie. Cutting vegitation, etc.)

As the other have said, it is pretty much a SD tool, and a wicked one at that.

I think I may dig mine out and carry it, now that I have thought about it!

I have one of Mike's sheaths, and I can vouch for the quality and utility of it. He also makes the "Pocket Rocket" sheath for the Gunting that allows you to carry the knife fully in the pocket, however it is oriented for quick draw.

yes and expensive... you would put that thing right up with the Benchmade 42's... I would suggest aluminum... The Microtech Dragonflies are made with this. They work fine for me. It would also keep the cost down over what you are suggesting. I too have had a slight rust issue, however nothing too bad.
