gadfly, yeah I know you pay for tools, but when I buy supposed quality I think it should be there. As for the locking problem-the tip on mine wore a groove in the opposing side in less than 3 weeks. I agree, I will give them a chance, however if they send it back I'll stll unload it for something us...

Spyderco decided that my Spyder Rench was not repairable and offered my the purchase price toward any Spyderco I want. Sure does restore my faith in customer service.

Victorianox!! My Champion is 22 years old, used daily for 13 years, never had any problems with it. The olny thing that broke was the little spring in the scissors and that is a counter item at dealers.

Do NOT buy the Spyder Rench!!! The pliers are useless. If you really want one I'll sel you mine. I will press my 5 year old Leatherman back into service. Don't care for the Gerber, too many moving parts.

I have owned my Chinook for appx. 6 mos. and can honestly say that I like everything about it. I carry now instead of my Emerson CQC-7.

A leather sheath or pouch is one more thing to hang off my belt. With a cell phone, holster for my sidearm, I have no place left to hang a sheath.
