Re: REALLY, NOBODY HAS ANY ADVICE ON THIS???????????
FWIW, if you're so set on finding " what differentiates a fake Spyderco from a real one " there's literally hundreds of videos on YouTube that go through different models (most you can find anywhere) and put them against their clones, ;) comparing and going through every little detail to ...

Re: A little satire
Thanks for this hmr170. This is hilarious. I'm afraid to know how one would classify me :D it reminds me of the recent bladehq YouTube video of things knife nuts say. Good or laugh at ourselves, and good to know so many share similar world views and realities.

Re: Delica 5
I still don't quite understand the reason against the finger choil. All it does is add functionality to an otherwise non-functional space. Seems every knife should have it.

Re: Spyderco’s Polestar & Alcyone should not be in their “VALUE LINEUP”
Sal, thanks for your input here. It is fascinating to get insight into the makers perspective. I wish these knives were more in line with my wants and needs, as the g10 color is hands down my favorite in the lineup. Still within the realm of possibility for me, but not soon as there are so many kniv...

Just tried the stove blackening on my clips, and they turned out beautifully. Slowly cooled by wiping on a wet washcloth. Thanks for the tip!!

Re: Spyderco’s Polestar & Alcyone Both OVERPRICED
My opinion is that the market will decide whether or not they are overpriced. If it's not an attractive option for you, then you wont buy it. There are many spyderco I scoff at the idea of buying, but I am happy that other people find joy in their purchase. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

Re: Spyderco Addiction: How do you define it?
Imo, I could probably get by with a $10 opinel for many years. The fact that I even bother spending more once, let alone many times, on spyderco means that to me I am both deeply interested and addicted. But I can afford it too. If you don't eat for a week so you can afford the best knife possible b...

Re: REALLY, NOBODY HAS ANY ADVICE ON THIS???????????
Amazon prime is $12.99 a month though, but I get you. For a cheap knife maybe it's worth it to you. I guess since I either get more expensive ones or go through CS and get the 3-4 day shipping I don't pay shipping but I see its different for you. Too bad there are these fakes or we wouldn't even hav...

Re: REALLY, NOBODY HAS ANY ADVICE ON THIS???????????
Well I guess if you would rather constantly worry about fakes and spend extra money to get 2 day shipping, sure. But everywhere I buy from offers free shipping, especially over a certain amount. And from cutlery shoppe it has always taken 3-4 days max to get to my door. I only advocate other options...

Re: REALLY, NOBODY HAS ANY ADVICE ON THIS???????????
Blade hq, knife works, cutlery shoppe, bento box... just do a quick Google search and you should be able to find a reputable dealer, and you will be helping a small business instead of the Amazon giants. There's tons but the ones I mentioned are super safe bets. I prefer cutlery shoppe, they seem to...

Buy from an authorized spyderco dealer. Never question anything.

Re: P3 S90V CF
I don't even think it's a bad price? The CF alone always adds expense, plus s90v, plus a brand new (amazing) model with a new proprietary locking mechanism. It's a steal! But I don't like CF so I don't want one :p

Re: Manix II spring tension
And at the risk of sounding like a negative nelly, I love everything else about the manix and plan to by a g10 version to mod the spring. I just hope a consideration to the design (or maybe just QC since some don't have these issues) will turn this into the perfect knife for me.

Re: Manix II spring tension
Guys keep in mind, a weaker spring equals a weaker lock. A softer spring means the ball is more likely to disengage the tang. It may be less fun as a fidget toy but it's safer and stronger as a knife. Unless it causes pain and/or is almost impossible to use as a practical tool. Granted it is for he...

Re: Manix II spring tension
Jammin57, I have 7 Manix’es and collect them and they all work flawlessly. You don’t want to be taking your Manix 2s apart risking your warranty. The secret to a easey opening lock on a Manix 2 is time !, you need to play with you Manix a lot and get that spring worked in as a spring losses it’s te...

Re: Manix II spring tension
I've had my s110v lw for a couple weeks, constant daily opening/closing. Mine still basically requires 2 hands to disengage the lock.
