Re: Whale Rescue
That is so awesome. Thank you for sharing. Was that the Spyderco whale rescue saw? It just went through those ropes like butter.

Re: The GOLDEN ERA OF SPYDERS 1998 to 2003
If you took one of the early-model Enduras, and compared it's pure cutting-ability to the current Endura 4, say both in serrated-edges, would you notice any appreciable difference, if both were in mint, un-used condition, and fully-sharpened, or, would the overall cutting performance be about equal...

Re: Edge retention plain vs serrated
Wow. This is a serious knife discussion. I will need to sober up and find my reading glasses to keep up with this thread. :D

Re: The GOLDEN ERA OF SPYDERS 1998 to 2003
What makes Spyderco so neat from the beginning, but most certainly during the Golden age is they make sharp knives. I mean really sharp knives. They use cutting edge steals, they get the heat treat right and they bring it together in really cutting edge designs and collaborations. This is what the G...

I have always been a user of knives going back 35 years or so. I still have my Buck 110 I got in 5th grade. It was a big deal to have that knife as a kid and I still treasure it. It is the age old debate user vs collector. Everyone here is a user of knives. But a collector? If you do not use it and ...

Re: The GOLDEN ERA OF SPYDERS 1998 to 2003
I picked up a K2 and I will say it is one of the coolest folders I have ever owned. It is just a giant slicer. Certainly one of the really interesting new knives to come out of Spyderco. There are so many great knives from Spyderco. I picked up an old Jess Horn with jigged bone handles the other day...

Re: The GOLDEN ERA OF SPYDERS 1998 to 2003
Yeah, I tried getting on with my old handle and it was to frustrating. So I decided to just sign back up and start over. Anyway I feel like I am back from a long journey and a new name is fitting. Leave the past behind and start again. Thanks for the welcome. It was so cool to see your posts here. I...

Re: The GOLDEN ERA OF SPYDERS 1998 to 2003
I used to have very large Spyderco collection. I sold most, if not all of it years ago. I then wandered the knife world and literally bought and sold many knives. My journey has really come full circle and I ended up looking at knives as tools again and as something you use. My search for the best c...
