Re: Favorite Grind Style "Poll"
Convex! As far as I'm aware, this isn't really represented in Spyderco's lineup, but I have a couple convex fixed blades, and they perform.

Re: New steel for FRN, options, Go !
Damsteel For FRN? Really? /quote] Why not? FRN is a handle material damsteel is a blade material. So yea, what am I missing? As far as I know, Damasteel doesn't cut especially well, it's more of a classy material. And FRN, in my opinion, doesn't look especially classy in comparison to CF, SS or G10.

Damsteel For FRN? Really? HAP72, in the same class as Maxamet. XVC11, in the same class as M4. HAP72 has popped up a few times on a few Russian forums, our guys are doing stuff to it and the reviews I've seen are glowing. It may be hard to work with, though - not just the heat treat (which would, I...

...re-profiling can be some work. Reprofiling on the Sharpmaker... This brings back memories. Not the good kind. I hear ya, not that it couldn't be done on the SM but I much prefer my Edge Pro for any/all reprofiling. ;) Sadly, I've only got a Hapstone equivalent recently. I've reprofiled a Militar...

Re: C54 Calypso liners?
If micarta is not enough for a solid handle, wouldn't carbon fiber be the solution? It'd be pricey, sure, but it should be rigid enough.

Re: Paramilitary 2 Sprint Run... CPM20CV please!
BG-42 is a rather old steel, Chris Reeve used to have it on the Sebenzas, and, as far as I know, there was a Military in it. Hard to find, but still available, or, at any rate, possible. M390, 20CV and 204P use slightly different manufacturing processes, so, at least technically, they are not the sa...

I'm in for an Endura in any colour (may I suggest dark blue or red? I hear red was recently promoted from trainer-only), but another Japanese model could use a sprint. The Calypso was the first folder to use VG-10. Maybe it'll be the first to use this steel as well?

Re: C54 Calypso liners?
The 2013 sprint does have full steel liners. https://spydercollector.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/adam2015screentest_calypso_41.jpg I've seen it pop up at the forums a few times, but it was always a bit too pricey for VG-10. The original seems way more appealing with its lighter weight anyway. Eh, I ...

C54 Calypso liners?
I was just looking around the spydiewiki, and the original, micarta C54 is listed at 88 grams, while the 2013 sprint is 125. Did the original run have partial liners? Or was that micarta just extra-light? Edit: The sprint also seems to have a longer overall length, despite the blade and the closed l...

Re: Salt Advice
The Caribbean is yet to drop, but a bigger blade and a compression lock are very appealing to me seeing as I don't enjoy small knives or back locks. It's a bigger blade than the ones you prefer, but a big blade can do anything a small blade can, and the reverse isn't always true. And that two-tone G...
