Re: I'm scared of the Para 3
I would like to try a Para 3, but I am scared to buy one. I am afraid it will be too small for my mitt. How much actual grip area, excluding the choil, is there compared to the Paramilitary 2 and a Delica 4? If I remember correctly you like the Dragonfly 2. The link below has a pic with the Dragonf...

Re: Question about Micarta and blade play
I second that. The play doesn’t have anything to do with the Micarta. As little as a 1/4 turn or less of the pivot screw makes a difference to the pivot action. I would very methodically adjust the pivot until the play was gone. If you can’t get it right contact customer service at Spyderco. I adjus...

Re: New member of the Mule Team
The Spyderco concealex sheath is quite good. I bought one last fall and it’s a good tight fit. It came with a G clip. Good package.

Overall length is fairly short it sounds like? Still Elmax! My only Mule so far is Elmax and I really like it.

A Rockjumper and a Sun and Moon Chaparral. I usually buy one at a time. I just couldn’t resist!

Re: Scales fo Endura 4, Wharncliffe?
I’m sure you’re going to get more answers but I have seen two threads recently on blade swaps on the Para 3 platform. One user had some difficulty and the other did not. I will also say that I have bought aftermarket scales a few times and they have always fit. That approach might be cheaper than a ...

Is a dendritic Cobalt Mule possible? I know it’s not steel. It’s better!

Re: Sharpening Sprints and Exclusives
I use them all. I usually carry it a day or two before I sharpen it and a week or two before I tinker with the pivot. On arrival a new knife immediately gets carried.

Re: Just for fun (pole) Are you a righty or a lefty?
I can open and close most knives either hand. (I don’t know if I have tried every lock type). I can do some things with either hand but I’m definitely right handed.

Re: Bushcraft folder
“Everyone loves tips and grinds.” So true! Yet so many different opinions! It seems to me that “Bushcraft” takes place in the backcountry or wilderness so carrying a fixed blade would be an option. In this situation the fixed blade is so clearly superior that a folder is superfluous. However I almos...

Re: SFO Exclusives
My takeaway from this is simple. Maybe there aren’t “SFO exclusives” but on any given visit there may be a hidden gem or rarity. I will be sure to ask in future. There was a new case when I was there that had returns in it without the boxes at a large discount off of retail. I don’t know if they wil...

SFO Exclusives
Recently I was in Golden (May ‘21) and went to the SFO and while I was there they had a Shaman with Rex 45 and orange G 10 display and I bought one. That knife came with a free t-shirt, 3X or small no other sizes. The previous time I was there (September 20) they had a PM 2 in a combo edge with 5210...

Re: Should the Kiwi 4 get a Sprint?
I voted no, because too many sprints! I would prefer any number of other knives first. How often has Spyderco brought back a model after it has left production? Do they save tooling or dies for models not in production? It seems like that if they don’t then the knife would never be made again.

Re: Oh no, what's this on my new Urban backspring?
They are polished, but don’t get the attention to detail the blade and lock do. Have you tried just wiping it off? You may have something dark on your desk that sheds some fine dust adhering to your back spring. You haven’t scratched it by using it so it must have been like this when you received it...

Re: Oh no, what's this on my new Urban backspring?
Those look like machining marks from a grinder or sander with a coarse grit. Not crazing or cracking and not a sign that the spring will fail. You could possibly polish those out if you disassemble the knife or use great care to avoid scratching the scales. I don’t mind the marks at all and I have k...
