Re: About that food prep ...

If you call yourself a knife geek and you don’t own a Japanese laser then you need to get one. This ain’t even a super expensive knife but it is R2/Super Gold and the grind is crazy thin. I can’t do this with any folder I own. https://i.imgur.com/eJTnLJr.mp4 Looks like that’s the Takamura R2? I hav...

Re: Wharnie Chapparal interest

Well, now I’m salivating at the thought of a chap XL wharncliffe. Chap good, wharnie good, XL GOOD!

Provided the stock stays at 2mm, it could be an easy contender for my new favorite knife.

Re: Sal, Anyone? Spyderco Super Blue steel hardness

I’m curious about this too, as I’m into Japanese kitchen cutlery as well as pocketknives. Does anybody have any info on the HRC on any of the other Japanese steels spyderco has used aside from ZDP? Hap40, Super gold 2, etc.

Re: "If you could only keep 5" Countdown

So, all in all: A Chaparral XL would be all about transferring the extremely well performing thin Chap blade and its slim carry into a larger size (PM2, Endela). Where it actually would make even more sense: Imho thin bladestock shows its superiority even better in longer blades! Feels like thin bl...

Re: Boxes, package and stuff

I partially keep them for resale reasons, but the main reason is that I like the spyderco packaging, and I like looking at my stack of boxes. It’s neat. Probably a slight ocd thing :)

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Uggghhh...all these glowing posts on the Chief, in my favorite steel...is tempting me to spend $170 I didn't plan on spending!! I miss my Military as my one folder that stands out against the rest because of it's size, seems like this could be a great replacement for it. It really is a great knife,...

Re: Zero play lockbacks - fact or fiction?

My native salt and sun & moon chap both have no play. That being said, I’ve had others that didn’t have play when I got them but developed some slight up and down play, and my native and chap are among the knives I use the least, so it’s entirely possible they could still develop that same play ...

Re: Would you be interested in "that" kind of Paramilitary 2 (different blade) ?

I really wouldn’t call this a pm2. That being said, I like this design more and would definitely want to try it out. Looks like it needs a back lock to me though :D

Re: Native Chief REX45 Lookout Thread

It said Pre-order. Maybe they know how many they are getting in stock and are allowing that many orders? Either way I plugged in my information. Hopefully that means I’ll get one. I guess worst case I’ll just get a refund. Hm not sure what that’s about, I just got an in stock alert in my email with...

Re: Serrated Waterway and Siren 2021?

I love love love my siren and would 100% buy a serrated model. Ive been digging serrations more and more lately. And honestly I’d buy literally any variation on the siren they make, it’s a near perfect design to me.

I just pop the front scale off and put a very small dab of grease on the end of the tube, works perfectly.

Personally, Siren in Rex 45, Teal scales, yellow liners.

Though if it has a lock and an interesting steel, I’ll take anything really.

Re: 2021 Forum knife?

Something in spy27 sounds good. How about a spy27 Military 2? :D If it was a forum knife, I would think it cool to be in an unreleased steel to make it special. Uddeholm Vanax SuperClean? Let’s mash these two ideas together, Vanax Military 2 Salt. Boom. Probably won’t happen but I already want 2. :D
