Re: What a cool little knife
Great pickup, congrats! Nice comparison shot with the dragonfly too, really helps to gauge the size before holding it. I'm looking forward to getting one of these as well. Thanks! Yea, I thought the DF2 would be good for comparison since it's a pretty common Spyderco that many people have handled b...

What a cool little knife
Picked this up from a collectors club member, came in the mail today. Very cool little knife, the action is really smooth, easy to open one handed. Good thickness to the handle, feels pretty good in hand. My first knife with RLW-34 steel too (made by the Swedish company Damasteel). Individually numb...

Great response Sal, hilarious. Some PR better than no PR I guess! Hopefully some of the people that didnt know about H1 before now know a little bit more (based on some of the facebook reponses on that post though, I dont have high hopes lol :D ).sal wrote:I guess we'll see if it hurts our sales?

Re: Uh oh nutnfancy spreading misinformation...
I responded to that post, provided some more info on H1 and hopefully can educate on some of the misconceptions people are writing, in a respectful way of course (shiny footprints, right?)

aliexpress.com is notorious for having fake Chinese knockoffs. Makes me sick that they can get away with it.

Re: Native 5 is probably my favorite model of Spyderco
Ok you guys know what to do, talk me into getting a Maxamet Native 5... Maxamet with some grey lighting strike carbon fiber scales would be pretty cool (or maybe some Ti scales), I think I might need to do that to mine :) Read that Maxamet has ridiculous edge retention, check this post out: //forum...

I definitely understand that! Can always have some custom scales made for it too, probably will be your best bet if wanting to use the Maxamet version.wrdwrght wrote:I like the ones I have as they are.

Re: Native 5 is probably my favorite model of Spyderco
If I'm going to swap out my normal EDC (Manix2/PM2/Stretch2) for something smaller, chances are high it will be a Native5. I have the S35VN AND S110V models and hold out hope for a non-lightweight Maxamet or 52100 model. If either of your Native 5 knives have G10 handles, you can always swap that o...

I sold both of my PM2s but I do have a PM3. Here is a shot I just snapped for comparison, from left to right:murphjd25 wrote:Does anyone have some native 5 comparison pics, say to a Para 2 or 3, a caly 3, a delica, etc?

I pre-order the Chappie with the Raffir Noble handle, looks so cool!demoncase wrote:The Chaparral's raison d'etre is about the handle not the blade steel....XHP is more than enough steel for me, and the Chap is not in need of a change in my book.
Roll on the Raffir Noble :)

Re: Which small EDC would you recommend and why?
You could look at the Para 3, also. I like the N5 but my hand loves the Delica more. The N5 is stouter, though. The LW is actually thicker than the Endura, not at all like the svelte Delica. Still, the N5 is a great knife. I would highly suggest looking at the Chaparral, too, and while you are at i...

Re: Which small EDC would you recommend and why?
Native 5 and Para 3 are great choices. The Native 5 is offered in many different flavors too. The Domino is awesome, just slightly larger than the Para 3 but smaller than the Para 2. As far as small knives go, the Dragonfly 2 is a favorite. I have the Nishijin glass version with ZDP-189, love it.

Re: Premium blade steel in premium knife?
"Advocate...M4 isn't stainless, what about a Maxamelt version?" Maxamet isnt stainless either, actually can rust very easily (more so than even M4). As far as premium steels go, I would like to see Spyderco use Vanax. Also how about some CPM 10V or CPM 15V? Would be cool to make a smaller...

honestly, the best thing you can do with it is to slap it on your forehead. All the cool kids are doing it.
