A friend of mine has used Serratas on whitetail deer here in NZ.
If you have one, give it a go, and see how you skin and joint the pesky critters.

Re: yojimbo trainers
There is a little solution to the ones that are cash-strapped. Trace your YO2 or whatever you have, onto a piece of decent wood, like maple, or even pine at a pinch. Your choice. Shape the piece of wood till all the bits that do not look like your knife, are removed. Whittle away till it "feels...

I think that some guy should use the Title as his knife making business name. Cause a big belly helps you make a straight grind when freehand grinding...You know, both hands on belly and against the wheel.

Re: Question: How are the Endura thin (red/blue) line (partial) serrations done?
The serrations are done on a solid abrasive wheel that has positive rounded protrusions that cut the hollow ground serrations that you see above. The abrasive has to be redressed to cut more efficiently as time goes by. I built a serration machine using thin Tyrolit 220 grit discs bolted together, a...

Re: Straight Razor from Spyderco
Methinks that a local barber, short on work, told the fellas that these are historical images and that no one will know who they are/were... and that the beards must be removed... Then he whipped up a lather, and used his latest bolted together 8 blade straight razor made by Jeremiah Glesser, and th...

Re: K390 Worth it?
I own two Blue Edgematters K390 Pingos. I Kalgard Gunkoted one in Flat Grey, and so I never have corrosion issues. The edge is exposed, but I use it enough to keep it "clean." I love K390 and i just touch it up with grey ceramic rods, so I never had to actually sharpen it. Whitling wood, o...

Re: Let’s talk SE fixed blades
I have experimented with a Whale Rescue for 7 different proto folders. There are two holes in the tang. A fixed blade is easy, but a folder is not. I have tried pins as locks, but you have to remove and replace the pin each time you open and close the blade. Bolts and nuts the same. ( Titanium pins,...
