this is how tight my sage is.

i know i've commented on it before, but i finally found a way to see if it was comparably smooth to other sages. when the knife is held out in locked position at any angle, and the lockbar is depressed, the knife will not move by gravity. if pushed down, the knife will stop when i stop pushing. It w...

the only issue with the perfect knife...

so i got the sage and i have carried it for a few days. i have planned on saving up for more and more knives from spyderco but once i got the sage it was clear to me: I don't think anything could be better! It's totally perfect! The only thing i want is a backup. Then possibly maybe trying out other...

should it be this tight?

My new sage 1 is amazing but it sounds a bit like metal on metal when being opened. Its also quite difficult to shake open even after the detent is disengaged. It won't move! It takes more resistance than expected to open. Is has been lubed with militec (straight from the sfo) and I'm wondering if i...

I did what computernut said and it helped! The screw stripped a little :( but I filed the sharp part down with a sharpmaker rod. Hope they'll give me a replacement screw when I go to the sfo. I love this sage :) now I think the 2 is next on my list! Perfect knife! No complaints at all! Just perfect!

sage1!!!

Just got it. Love everything about it! Little nick on part of the liner but I'm an adult so I don't care. The only thing so far I can complain about is the smoothness. It can be flicked open but it has some consistent resistance while slowly opening/closing. Is this normal? My delica isn't like that...

i liked the cara cara 2

i just held it. it's kinda cheap but i kinda wanna get the g10 version. I can't carry it where i live, but i might use it around the house or keep it in the car. seems like a great deal for 30 bucks and i love the choil, but do you think it compares positively to the tenacious? I also have 1 more qu...

locks that last?

I know this is related to my previous question, but can someone rate Spyderco locks by how quickly they'd expect the lock to wear out? I know none wear out fast, but some are more built to last over time than others.

have any of your liner locks worn out?

from spyderco? also framelocks. just wondering if any have developed unfixable vertical play. And if they do, will spyderco replace them?

I could be wrong, but I believe the reasoning behind the standard hollow grind is to keep the price as low as possible. For sprint runs, price becomes less of a factor. Spyderco also likes to give people variety and some actually prefer a hollow grind for a thick, strong tip among other benefits.

a decent proposition

I know we have all heard the cries for orange handled jesters with toxic green coated blades and a compression lock with wire clips and other requests that would be popular only to a select group. However, this one makes just a little bit more sense in a few ways. I love the look of the Lum CF. I re...
