Re: Slysz Bowie!
Really want that slysz; not sure if it is the angle of the photo, but in the comparison picture the handles look close to the same size. If this is the case I have to commend the K2 for fitting such a huge blade in this handle and I also wonder if they could have shaved a little off the slysz handle...

Re: Slysz Bowie!
Personally, I have no worries that spyderco and the taichung factory will get the knife right. I for one love my techno and although it was not a "have to have it" knife at first it has become one of my top 5 spydies. I am super excited for the bowie! I am a little low on funds now after s...

Nice work Gringo. I did something similar to my atlantic a while ago, but I went with more of a straight wharncliffe on the spine rather than a blended profile like you did (I think I like yours better) I also struggled with the full serrations at the tip when modding, but I did not flatten out an a...

I have strayed a little from Spyderco to try a few others and I have collected some pretty expensive folders. I have to say after all this, my vallotton is the IMO the highest quality, best F+F and by far smoothest of all my knives. I agree, the sebenza does not even come close to me for smoothness!...

I'm feeling a very tepid response to this mule team and the steel in general and that is kind of dissappointing to me (the response, not the steel). Looking back at the history and purpose of the mule team series it is intended to try new untested steels out in a comparable platform for afi's and st...

Done any cutting yet??? I am interested to hear your opinions on using the knife, I am convinced it is just as beautiful as it could be straight from the factory (which is odd for me as I tend to favor customization on many of my knives). Anyway, this thread has got me to kick out the new Manix S110...

Macro Edge Pictures?
I hope I didn't get anyone too excited with my title but I am having the hardest time with the search tool to find macro pictures of edges. I know I have seen some great ones under very high magnification which show how steel deforms/chips/etc. which I think are very interesting but I can't for the ...

So after five or so hours it's going well. Detennt is strong but I may be holding it wrong also. I've never had a frame lock so this is new to me. Tomorrow it will definitely get more use. So far I am enjoying it more than I expected to. You can check out a thread I started about the strong techno ...

Awesome...can't wait for the new mule. I just happened upon the Mule program at the right time to pick up a K390 and S110V and they are both incredible knives. I have been beating on my K390 in the yard and it is a beast. From super thin slices of tomato to gnarly root pruning this thing does the jo...

Looks like a beauty! I did also add some oil to mine (along with a few minor tweaks to my taste) and I think you will grow to love this knife. Mine has only left my pocket to show some love for my two newest spydies (techno then the unexpected manix S110v lightweight). I think that the Caly 3.5 is s...
