Re: MT40P – HIC Mule Team Dropping Soon!
Have you tried diamond belts?
My thought was to try loading up a linen belt for my 2x72 with diamond compound and seeing how that does to hone the edge on this Mule when I get it. I guess we’ll see how that goes. Do you know if there diamond impregnated belts that you can buy? I do...

Re: My Folding Mule Project
This one is all done, and I have to say it’s the best one yet. The lockup on this thing is rock solid and it has zero lock stick thanks to carbidizing the lock face. I was able to get the detent tuned to perfection so it flips very reliably and is still nice to thumb flick and Spydie flick. As usual...

Re: My Folding Mule Project
Almost done! It still needs a pocket clip and a little bit of fine tuning, but it is locking up super solid and the action is pretty nice already. The folder is actually slightly narrower than the fixed blade one, although the scales are a little less contoured. However, the two knives feel almost i...

Re: My Folding Mule Project
Just a quick progress report. I was able to get the lockbar cut, fit up the tang, and set the detent earlier this morning. I’m going to add another standoff at the back before moving along to making some scales. There’s a good chance the first set of scales will be Purple Heart to match my other 15v...

Re: My Folding Mule Project
You would also have hot swappable scales that way! This is an excellent point that I hadn’t even really thought about. Since I plan to possibly make several blades for this knife it would be great to have several scale options as well. Since this knife has full liners I can make scales in no time b...

Re: My Folding Mule Project
Just a little update. I’m getting faster at doing this and think this will the best one yet. There’s a good chance I’ll chop up some of the other Mules I have to work with this handle if I’m happy with how the 15v blade turns out :) Anyways, here’s what I’ve done so far. Still a long way to go with ...

Re: My Folding Mule Project
Just found this thread cuz I was curious and interested in the concept of folding Mules, but without the skills demonstrated here. Absolutely, positively, AMAZING! Hat tip. :party-face Thanks man, these have become some of my favorite knives to carry. I just started on my next one that will be a 15...

Re: Show your Mule
Lately I’ve been strapped for time but really wanted to put my new 15v Mule to work. I decided to do a set of scales as fast as I could without compromising on quality. The result was this set of Purple Heart scales, done in 1 hour and 5 minutes. The tools used were a drill press, bandsaw, trim rout...

Re: Gaboon Ebony Handles
I have used Gabon Ebony for years making custom furniture pulls, and have used it at least a dozen times for knife handles. You do not need to stabilize it and I don’t think it would absorb much resin if you tried to. If you wet sand it up to 800 grit and buff it with red rouge it will take a great ...

Re: The Mule Thumb Ramp
I decided to grind down the ramp on my first folding Mule to give it a less abrupt angle. I also added some jimping and have been very pleased with the overall feel of it.

Carrying my latest chop mod, a Bombshell style M4 Shaman. I’m loving this thing so far!

Re: Show your mods!
Here’s the latest chop I’ve come up with for the Shaman, Bombshell style! It’s almost the exact same length now as the Bombshell but has more handle/less blade because of the finger choil. I’ve been carrying it for the last two days since I did the chop and really love the size and feel of it. The c...

Re: Delica with tanto blade?
That worked on the PM2 handle because there’s no backspacer and it had enough room to accommodate that extra blade height created by the Tanto transition point. It wouldn’t work on the Delica, at least not as is like it did with the PM2. The Delica’s handle and backspacer are not currently optimize...

Re: Manix Modifications. What have you done? What do you want to do?
Here is how I modify mine. I love the knife in this size! https://i.imgur.com/o5kucFM.mp4 So the tap was compatible with the original screws? How did you tap the clip holes? I drilled the holes on a drill press and tapped them by hand with a 2-56 tap using a pin vise. You just have to go slow and u...

Re: Delica with tanto blade?
I made a20cv tanto Delica about nine months ago. It’s pretty sweet but I haven’t carried it very much. Recently I was actually thinking about selling it because I just have way too many knives right now. If anyone is interested send me a PM

Here is my answer…
But seriously the Kapara works incredibly well in this size, and is probably my favorite knife.
