Hey, All:
The biggest market for our SLIPITs is Europe. Europeans also have a clear preference for PlainEdge blades and rarely buy knives with serrated edges. It's basically a matter of market preferences.

Mike

Re: MT40P – HIC Mule Team Dropping Soon!
Hey, All:
The HIC Mules are sharpened one at a time by one of our most talented and experienced finishers using a 600-grit diamond wheel.
For at-home sharpening, you'll need a diamond or CBN abrasive of at least 600 grit as well. Finer grit (800+) works even better.

Mike

Hey, Yablanowitz:
I stand corrected. I thought it was an Endura 4, not an Endura 2. The photos aren't clear enough to see the steel marking.
The Endura 2 was right-side, tip-up/down.
Stay safe,
Mike

Re: MicroJimbo?
Mike, why not use S45VN in the microjimbo? I am really impressed by that steel in my Para3, I would imagine that its properties would fit the MicroJimbo as well. Spyderco is very good at working with CPM S30V, so it tends to be a go-to choice for new models. Even the Military 2 is S30V. Perhaps in ...

Re: MicroJimbo?
Dear Spyderwebs: Historically, the handle drop was a "go-to" opening in Spyderco's early days, when all models were tip down. The disadvantage of it is that it reduces the contact surface of the hand to the thumb and index finger and, on longer knives, requires a bit of repositioning of th...

Re: Spyderco backlocks : why is the stop pin an exception, instead of being the norm ?
Another manufacturer's solution pulled out of the previous thread on the topic which I linked to above. It appears to be implemented without liners. http://i.imgur.com/203gD9I.jpg Personally, I find most of the current Native 5 models to have no rock and really don't need stop pins. I do have one n...

Re: Did the no safety CG Autonomy ever come with a pocket clip?
The Coast Guard Autonomy has machined recesses to allow the mounting of a wire clip, but does not include a clip. Either the previous owner added one or a clip was mistakenly attached as an exception to our policy.

Re: Spyderco backlocks : why is the stop pin an exception, instead of being the norm ?
Hey, All: Great question and cool discussion. Having designed a couple of knives with internal stop pins, I think it's important to remember a few things. First, stop pins that ride in arcuate slots can provide one or both of two functions--limiting the travel of the blade in the open and/or closed ...
