Re: Article from today's Golden Globe newspaper - Spyderco to stop making knives!

Lawn mowers are the new hipster edc, didn't figure Sal and Eric to be jumping on the bandwagon so soon! Heard a new Spydie 'LBLM' is in the works w/ a hybrid electric motor that'll fit in the coin pocket.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Limes, apples, and oranges mostly, with the occasional kiwi thrown in! But I also cheated and forced more patina w/ cider vinegar once i noticed some reddish rust spots appearing.

Re: Amsterdam Meet 2016 Report of Spyderco Prototypes

Previous pics of the SpydieChef (then SpydeChef) gave me the impression of a 4"+ blade, and set up expectations accordingly. Was definitely planning on nabbing that, but now I'm really excited about the more EDC friendly size.

Re: Amsterdam Meet 2016 Report of Spyderco Prototypes

OK, I'm getting rabid with excitement about this new batch. That packer looks to be the camping/backpacking knife I've been looking for, and the SpydieChef is just getting copped regardless!

Re: My GB2 is rusting on one side of the blade

Yeah, I agree with SurfinG - that is odd. my spots were only popping up after cutting a lot of fruit, a little meat, and some wood. I used toothpaste on microfiber to get off the spots, then oiled it w/ mineral oil. spots reappeared a few days later without cutting anything, so I forced a patina wit...

Re: Poll: What are your two favorite Spyderco blade shapes (and why)?

Leaf and wharnie for me too. I tend to use the tip a lot, so it's all about what D said, regarding point being low relative to the pivot in these two blade shapes.

Re: My GB2 is rusting on one side of the blade

I had a similar experience with M4, and now just routinely force a patina with lime juice, vinegar, or green apples. No problem with those rust spots appearing randomly now.

Re: Help! Mantra 2 or Positron decision

carrying my positron today to put it to the test. have a mantra 1 which I carry constantly, but haven't quite put my head around why the positron gets neglected, as mine (modded to round off the harsh edges) basically collects dust.
