Re: MT21P - Mule Team Fixed Blade with CPM 4V
I thought I read somewhere that the Spyderco store staff had said there were +/- 1200 of these, which would mean that they're selling faster than most of the recent MT knives (a lot faster...). 4V has market appeal that a lot of the recent steels didn't - I would not delay very long.

Re: Paramilitary models - does anyone have them ALL?
I have at least one of all of the sprints and exclusives and some of the regular production knives. I used to have two complete sets, but sold one of them. There will be quite a few to add over the next year or so.

Re: Mule Team MT01 52100 - Help With Scales
You may not be able to find that locally. KnifeKits.com sells carbide spade bits, which will work if you use them carefully. I was able to enlarge the holes with that bit. I smoked everything else I tried, literally.

They come in and out of stock. They're available only from the link in the first post. They're truly excellent (I have one).

Re: Spyderco ATR: WOW!
I owned one of the titanium PE ones for a number of years and eventually sold it. I didn't like the grip, and the blade profile was so-so. I really didn't like the cobra hood - I had several unintended "wave" openings. It was beautifully made but really didn't strike any chords for me. I'd...

Agree on letting the frenzy die down.
Blue is very sensitive to lighting and post-processing, so it could be the pics rather than the actual G10 that looks so purple. We shall see soon enough.

Re: flipper that doesn't flip so well (Southard)
My Brown Southard just never really flipped that well. The Black Southard is awesome..... But they are both a push button technique imo Mine doesn't flip for beans. I've tried loosening the pivot, cleaning it out thoroughly, lubing with very light grease, lubing with various oils - this one simply ...

I used to have a bunch. I dyed them back when FRN came in any color you wanted as long as it was black. I think I still have a couple of Delicas in white around.

Re: Rotary Grinder to Mod my Spyderco knives?
If you're using a bench grinder for that sort of purpose, you want a low rpm grinder made for working with edged tools. Ideally yes, however I just have a normal 3000rpm grinder. It's OK with care, but I never go right to the edge. To be honest I think a low speed grinder would also be quite capabl...

Re: Rotary Grinder to Mod my Spyderco knives?
I'm with the post above for most purposes. The speed is too high and the working surface is too small for doing anything other than "filework" on the spine or perhaps setting a sharpening choil.

Sal, as a reference, do you have records on what the HRC range for the MT01 was?

This version of the Delica makes a good pair with the Janich Endura. :spyder:

Re: Ex Para2 fans converted to Manix2 LW
I went the other way. At one point I was extremely committed to the M2. Eventually the edge-to-spine dimension got to me and the PM2 filled that niche perfectly.

This is humor, right? The code was publicly posted. The knife was done as a special thank you to forum members. If this makes you unhappy, I have no idea how anyone could ever satisfy you.bdblue wrote:

Looks very brown to me, too - color's fine.dreadpirate wrote:I ordered the 2015 Forum knife; the earth tone brown is fine by me. However - many of the folks I talked to do not like the color. What say all you? [EDIT] ok - it's maroon. But it looks brown to me.
