Re: Unabridged Unapologetic Case for the Para Military 2 Left Hand *

I concur with Donut and Vivi. The C68 Gunting was the first model to use the Compression lock and it was reversed from the current convention, i.e., unlocked by pressing with the thumb (like a Linerlock®), not as subsequent models that utilize current version that unlocks in the right-hand by pinchi...

Re: More Information On The GAUNTLET Sharpener yet??

Hi Sal;

Are you using Sharpmaker triangle rods or a symmetric lens (cat's eye, double-pointed ellipse) like the Galley V rods?

Now you have established the parameters for discussion, deliberation, and decision. Of note: not many have been asked by Sal to design or develop a knife with them. You may be considered one of the privileged or cursed few.

Hi Cliff:

So what type of knife would you design with Spyderco? Steel? Details ... inquiring minds. Seems like it would be a beneficial project from many perspectives.

Thanks,
I like the sound of that. Would that pattern not also be useful in a folder?
Only if you were using the folder on a cutting board. For kitchen knives, the majority of dulling is a result of the surface one cuts upon, not necessarily what one cuts, i.e., food. The extended tooth was d...

Re: 52100 steel

52100 is a ball bearing steel. Most ball bearing steels make pretty decent blade steel. Especially where edges are concerned. It is my favorite steel to forge. It is hard to find in sheet. Actually, I would like to do a run of a model in 52100, but I'd prefer to make it in Golden, so it will be a y...

I keep hearing about the bowie fighting feature of the "back cut". Can the Bradley be sharpen for that feature? The pictures of the knife looks like a lot of metal would be need removed to achieve that feature. The grind on the spine of the blade is a decorative relief called a swedge. No...

FB33GP Bradley Bowie – a review

Historical Note - Long gone are the days of the single shot muzzle loading pistol and the need for a large companion Bowie knife. As the necessity of this legendary fighting knife waned preceding the American Civil War, the smaller clip point Bowie hunter became the legacy of the pattern that formed...

Ken Onion has probably made more money than any other contemporary designer/maker/collaborator than all others in the last 40 years combined. :D The exceptions perhaps being those individuals who own/owned their own companies.
