Re: Knife Safety 101
I have been a knife guy for over 40 years. I have had many stitches in my hands from self inflicted wounds. I have cut myself more times than I can remember. It just goes with the territory. I also keep my knives very sharp so the cuts have always been clean...LOL I once cut myself in the middle of ...

Re: Spyderco Safety Razor?
On a side note I inherited literally hundreds of Razors from the 1800's and early 1900's. I had no interest in them so I sold them in lots on Ebay. I ran all auctions. They sold for way more than I expected.

Re: Best place to sell?
If you want to sell the knife for real, Ebay is the best. That is the market. The knife will sell if you run an auction. Playing around on forums works if you have some super hot knife that is all hyped up. Or you may find a buyer for your rare knife, if you are lucky. I kind of get exhausted sellin...

Re: Pacific Salt talk
I love the salt series. I gave a H1 Pacific salt to a friend like 7 years ago. He absolutely abused that knife and still carries it as his gardening knife. I am amazed how well the knife has held up. If I see him in the next few weeks I will get a picture of it. Just tough knives. I have been using ...

Re: Travel knife -- checked luggage
I used to do a lot of flying. I traveled with carry on only so I would just buy a crappy knife where ever I ended up and throw it away when I left.

Re: Unusual, and/or Paranormal Events
I watch tons of mine exploration videos. One of my favorite type of shows. There are a lot of videos out there of weird experiences in abandoned mines. The Horton mine became pretty famous on You Tube as being haunted.

Re: So what did y'all end up buying this year (2021)?
I have been collecting knives for 25 years plus and I don't keep track of the knives that I buy anymore. I know I bought a couple Pacific salts with the green handle. I bought a few Military's. I bought this set of S110V folders.

Re: Steels you won't buy...and why
I would say I lean very strongly towards stainless steels with high edge retention at this point in my knife journey.
I would rule no steel out if I like the design of the knife. Plus, a tough tool steel may be preferred in a fixed blade.

OMG. That's harsh. I pray you can find a solution. I have had some hard times but this is really tough. Good luck.

Re: 52100 Millie, tell me the good the bad and the ugly I’m considering getting one
I pondered this thread for a while and although my initial impressions of the 52100 steel have not changed. I decided to buy another one and stash it away in case I ever want to revisit this steel.

Very cool post BFK. Love all those fixed blade pictures!
I think this is one of the cooler Spyderco Fixed blades. No collection would be complete with out one.

Re: Spyderco Knives Fixed Blade thread
I have to give credit to JD Spydo for this pair. He was always saying how great they are...he is right. He has been a fan of these knives going back like 20 years? These are more collectable for me now and do get carried from time to time, but rarely if ever used.

Re: Spyderco Knives Fixed Blade thread
I have used the South Fork a lot and it is amazing how good it still looks. I have really only used it on fish and food prep but the steel is tough. It is one of my most used and treasured knives. I have barely used the Sprig. I will say these knives are as good as any custom fixed blade I have ever...

Loved the steel for sharpening. Could get a wicked sharp edge.
Gave it away because I could not stand the lack of corrosion resistance. It convinced me that I am a 100% stainless steel guy.

Spyderco Knives Fixed Blade thread
I was looking at the forum and it seems all the threads are focused on folders.
I use my folders more, but my real love is fixed blades.
So let's see them and hear about them. Fixed blades only. Spyderco makes some of the finest fixed blades out there.

Re: We need more Millie’s
I have been carrying a Military on and off for 20 plus years. It wasn't until the last few years I decided that it really might be the perfect knife for me. Once I decided that I went out and got one in S110V even though I have several other Millies. I am pretty set on this being my main carry knife...
