Is there any good reason the Ouroboros is $167?

First of all, let's get things straight. I love Spyderco and I got an Endura. Then a Delica. Then it progressed a little too quickly to a Positron and now I am already saving for a Mamba. But that is beside the point. I've been wanting an Ouroboros as an EDC hard user. When it finally came out on KC...

Re: LookIng for a good knife shop in maryland

Two extra thumbs up for Edgeworks. I went with my dad and we were surprised to see how big it was. I called ahead to see if they had the knife I was planning to get but it turned out they had much more knives that I could look at and hold. The only thing I don't like is that it's the closest knife s...

Re: Convince my brother he needs a Spyderco!

zhyla, I'd NEVER loan a knife to my crazy brother. Reason 1: I very much do not trust him with a large/expensive knife. Reason 2: I only have three to start with! Reason 3: He cut himself once with a $5 Buck. Imagine if that had been as sharp as a spyderco! So this is a person who in general does no...

Re: Convince my brother he needs a Spyderco!

I believe I'll go with a Dfly Salt SE. He likes serrated and I know salt is much better SE. Plus he won't have to worry about keeping it dry.

Convince my brother he needs a Spyderco!

My annoying brother who is a computer geek obviously needs a new knife. He uses a $2 Ozark Trail knife with a failing backlock that he couldn't care less to fix. I've been offering to get him a Spydie for his birthday for a few months, only to be turned down. I think he needs a Spyderco for scout ca...

Re: Let's talk laptops, processors...

Hello, Intel I series processors are higher end currently. Amd has some good APU options. Make sure when you look at a I series processor it is modern generation. The modern generation of intel (codename skylake) have a 6 as the first letter of their model number. Example: 17 6700. If I were to reco...

Re: Official knife comparison pic thread!

Idea: The new Mamba vs Positron. They are exactly the same materials apart from the mamba's TI liners. Also a mamba/delica/endura shot. More Mamba pics are needed!

Re: New Positron!

morrism, once you've bought one Spydie, there's no going back. You just need to buy more and more to "quench the thirst". Yes, I am a fanatic, yes I am a little crazy about it but there are many others out there... ;) /\Look above me! we're all cuckoos :o

Re:

Pink D3 SE (chipped tip) no boye dent, ATS-55.... I can relate. My first Spydie was an ATS-55 Endura3 SE from my dad that had been his work knife for many years. As we easily discovered, ATS-55 is extremely brittle. He managed to snap half an inch off the tip and put a quarter-inch crack in the spi...

No I have not and I think you're right because when trying to add it to cart it just goes to the home page.

It seems like a great price and they have (most) of the specs right but I can't be sure and I know practically nothing about the captain.

Re: New Positron!

Nicely done, man. How do you like it? It's very comfortable, unlike many people have been saying. I removed the clip because I thought that it was obtrusive when you were flipping but it's not a big deal because i'll just go deep pocket carry. I bought it at Edgeworks in Frederick MD and I was happ...

Re: Help! Mantra 2 or Positron decision

Yes, I think I am going with the Positron. I love Southard's blade shapes but never been a huge fan of his handles. I think the Positron is what finally got it right. The CF is great and I'm sure most of you know what I mean about the handles. I would be all over the Southard if it was a liner lock ...

Re: Help! Mantra 2 or Positron decision

Though I've heard great things about the Mantra's functionality, I think I'm liking the positron's looks. Something makes the Mantra's blade look too small for the handle. I also like the positron's lightness compared to the Mantra and I think I am currently leaning in favor of the Positron.
