Re: First Knife of 2018
My first order in 2018 is GB from KW and very excited about it. I’ve been eying on this for some time since my first GB2 was purchased in couple years ago but finally pulled the trigger.

My last purchase on its way is black Southard. I just couldn’t pass deal on it right now while it’s still available.

It's a very well made knife. Fit and finish are great.

Any good deals available for green g10 worker? What is reasonable price for this sprint run? How do you like it if you own one? beautiful to look at, haven't found it to be practical for my edc uses, sits in a drawer. mine was a gift but I believe it was around $140. Thanks and I’m seeing price ran...

Re: What Spyderco use to sharpen their knife at factory?
I believe they're sharpened by hand on belt sanders. I think the final edge was either 400 or 600 grit lightly buffed to remove the burr. Many models are currently sharpened using a robotic jig, and the edges have somehow gotten even better. If you want to replicate it, you could use a coarser grit...

I’m guessing that folks realize the value of Spyderco’s first original flipper design...MacLaren wrote:Whoa now.......the Brown Southard just jumped to $169 on BHQ...
The Black Southard is still $164
This is the 1st time I've ever saw the Brown Southard listing for more than the Black Southard.

What Spyderco use to sharpen their knife at factory?
I’ve owned quite a few Spyderco knife and they’re all razor sharp from factory. So I was wondering how and what they used to sharpen their knives and is this something I can replicate at home.

Mine is arriving tomorrow and can’t wait for it. I’ll be sharing my first impression tomorrow. Good deal. You might need to take a little alcohol and wipe the Blade off. She'll really shine right up. Action might be just a bit stiff at first, but she'll settle in. Congratz again man. Looking forwar...

Re: what's your thought?
It looks like a good deal to me. I picked up the ManixLW in this configuration recently and like it. I already have the 2015 Forum Native5LW in S90V or else I would have probably picked this up already. It also depends on if you like safety orange. I like it for woods uses but not so much for daily...

Is this hidden gem or turned off by color of the handle? It seems to me that S90V under $100 is very attractive.

Re: Do I really "need" a Southard?
I also received shipping confirmation from KC today so it was pretty quick. Prior to pulling the trigger, I was contemplating very hard on which color to pick and choose from. At the end I went with original brown handle so I’m bit curious to hear which one is favorite among others here. Thanks I w...
