Re: Compression lock - blade play under pressure
Had this knife been a midlock, especially without a Boye dent, I could understand the described blade-play. I have many Spydies with a compression lock and can’t even imagine what is described. Were it mine, I’d send it to Golden for the fix.

Re: New Knife Dilema
My experience with each in the OP’s list (I have a Yojimbo, not a YoJumbo) has me agreeing with Nick. You can’t go wrong.
I hasten to say, though, that a Yo’s cutting properties, which are fantastic, may surprise you if you are not familiar with Wharncliffes.

Re: EXTREMELY disappointed with Spyderco
I called customer service and they are in the process of exchanging my box for a premium box. All good so far. Glad to see you’ve modified this thread’s title to lower the temperature for later visitors. Sullying Spyderco’s earned reputation for bending over backwards to make things right, BEFORE t...

Re: Millie 2 Salt?
I thought MagnaCut made the Military2 Salt pretty much a certainty. As with the imminent PM2 Salt, my concern has been corrosion-resistant liners. The PM2 Salt appears to have answered that concern with full liners, and so, too, Eric’s PM2ization of the Military Model. My remaining concern is the sc...

Re: Compression lock - blade play under pressure
So it’s your grip, not a pressing of the blade on a surface, that results in the blade playing vertically?

Re: What knife do you actually carry and use the most?
I have a fair-sized herd of Spydies and carry pretty much what happens to appeal. But by year’s end—having spent time with new acquisitions, or with comparisons I want to make, or with subjects of conversation here—my most carried and used is usually a PM2 in a preferred steel (10 at last count). Tr...

Re: EXTREMELY disappointed into Spyderco
Excuse me, I have every right to post my disappointment online. Don’t worry about it. And there in a nutshell is what is wrong with the world today Right, because my example is totally what is wrong with the world today 🙄 Instead, bash me because I clearly didn’t get what I ordered and was disappoi...

Re: Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!
Sorry to see the damage. Did you use your 110V Manix on its factory edge? Photos kinda look like factory. I'm not saying it will stop all chipping, but see how your knife performs after several re-sharpenings. Lots of people report better edge stability after the factory edge is gone. My thoughts, ...

Is the movement a one-time deal per opening, or does it repeat when you press?

Not to say that Sal would unleash a failure-prone knife on us, but I’m sorta devoted to full-tangs in fixies.Tristan_david2001 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 6:49 amAn original t1 design run with a steel upgrade and black micarta would be just lovely.

Re: The Spyderco CULT CLASSICS Survey
A Cult Classic to me is something not popular but highly rewarding; a sleeper when current, and long since forgotten. For Question 3, a well-designed differentiator, I chose the Lil’ Temp1. For Question 1, I checked D’Allara Rescue, Dyad, JD Smith, Schempp Kris, and Worker. I have each to remind me ...

You Don’t Know What You Got ’Til It’s Gone
Just got a Jumpmaster2 after seeing that its blade is serrated H1, and that its FRN scales and my comfortable Enuff Salt and K390 Enuff2 ones are the same with the former only proportionally larger. Having embraced my new fixie fixation, I started to wonder, “like you do” (in Eddie Izzard’s voice), ...

Why do these locks rock?
Probably to give us something to complain about.
