Re: Suggestions for a new spydie !
Manix 2, CPM 4V marble carbon, hollow grind. There priced decent at $188 Maybe a Para 3 st nicks CPM 4V red g10. A little pricier at $199-$240 Possibly larger knives? I think you favor smaller knives though. How about a manbug in ZDP-189? Spyderco Military REX45 sprint they are still in stock. These...

Re: best steel?
What steel did the OP decide on?
I’d probably pick In this order as my first choice;
MAXAMET
REX45
CPM S110V
CPM 4V
CPM M4
Cruwear
S30V, this steel is probably the easiest choice. Very rust resistant. Will take a very good edge, good enough edge retention. But, the edge is also durable too.

Is the Japan made seki city Spyderco’s best quality knives? Like the Police 4?

Re: How much are you willing to spend on a Chinese made knife?
As of right now, I only own USA made Spyderco’s. But, I purchased a Spyderco Tenacious, and a Spyderco Resilience. They are $38, and $50 respectively at your local Walmart. If it were not for me buying these china made knives, I would’ve never spent the money on the (2) Spyderco’s I have now, or the...

Re: Manix 2 or Manix 2 XL ? Help !
I’d probably go Manix XL too, it’s an easy choice S30V. Lately I’ve started favoring larger knives. More cutting edge, easier to cut larger objects, and you will end up with longer edge retention due to the wear being spaced apart to a larger area. Manix XL isn’t huge either. It’s under 4” so that i...

" I’m not trying to make anything new guys. I just thought having a knife “Factory sharpened” was the right thing to do. I saw a few on eBay like that." I agree, you're not trying to misrepresent like it's new, just trying to show that with a quality factory sharpening, nobody has done a ...

Re: Police4 pics and impressions ( pics restored )
This thread was incredible. A great comparison! You own exactly the same knives as me, even in the same steel. So this was a great comparison for me. The Police 4 is so cool. I think I’m ready for one. After reading this thread, and @VIVI thread as well, and a few other members too. So, I started ou...

But, I’ll sell it like this with my own edge on there no problems haha The knife has seen good usage. Fortu...

Re: Spyderco Factory resharpening
Maybe I'm full of myself but if I'm selling a used knife that I've sharpened and put a bevel on myself, I consider that a selling point over the factory edge. I don't mean to sound like I'm calling you out or anything, I just honestly can't see any positive selling point of putting a "factory&...

Re: Spyderco Factory resharpening
TPS "How’s it look? Honest enough? Haha." Yep, as a buyer of used knives, with those photos looks very good / fine to me. Better than this photo below of someone trying to flog a rusty, worn knife lol. I asked for more/better photos, they weren't nearly as good as yours! (He also said he ...

Re: Spyderco Factory resharpening
I thought you were getting to be a pretty accomplished sharpener in your own right? With fancy state of the art gear! List it as lightly used and lovingly sharpened on my wicked edge -- or some such. Honesty and full disclosure does the trick on Ebay. Yea I think that’s probably what I’ll end up do...

Re: Spyderco Factory resharpening
That’s actually pretty frustrating to hear. I’d be upset too if they did that to me without offering the option. Can anyone send some pictures of a new edge put on their knife by Spyderco? I’ve always been curious to see one. I saw one on ebay. The knife sold for like $152 used as a “Factory reshar...

Re: Spyderco Factory resharpening
When I was at SFO for a visit the offered to sharpen my EDC...they proceeded to sharpen it by hand on a Sharpmaker right in the showroom. So you better check how they will "factory sharpen" your knife. It may not be like the manufacturing sharpening for new production knives. In videos I ...

Re: Spyderco Factory resharpening
I think the cost of shipping the knife back and forth (Roughly $12) would negate any extra money you'd get from the sale. I believe it takes a couple of weeks, but I've never used this service myself. Regardless, here is the info you seek: ✓ If your knife requires other services or you have any que...

Re: Share your Edge| CPM S110v
I just sharpened my Military S110V to 36 degrees inclusive on a guided system. I started on very well broken in 200 grit diamond stones, after I created a thin 18 DPS beautiful looking even bevel, with nice looking scratches too I started with loaded strops on the knife at the same angle this remove...

Spyderco Factory resharpening
I may sell my PM2 S110V on eBay. I’m in no rush so I’d like to have it factory sharpened by spyderco before I list it to achieve the most out of a used knife.
How do I go about sending it to them?
How long did it take?

What about the lil Native? It’s 2.5” so that falls right between the dragonfly at 2.2?, and Delica at 2.8?
If it were me, I’d go for a Spyderco Para 3 solely on extreme durability. They just are tough as nails like a PM2, only smaller.
If you wanted smaller, I’d get a manbug in ZDP-189

Re: 2019 Knife Plans
I like that really thin bevel. Is that 20 DPS? Maybe even 25dps. Not sure but I think you're looking at blade's "hollow grind". If so, that not the actual edge grind. No, I’m looking at the very edge of it. It looks very small. How does it cut? Maybe that’s how a hollow grind should be so...
