Re: What Are You Reading ?
Doc, have you ever read any of Andrew Klavan's books? If not I have a feeling you'd enjoy them. I especially like his more recent Another Kingdom trilogy, and the new and on-going Cameron Winter series. They're the kind of books that are hard to put down - fast paced and action packed, but with a l...

Re: What Are You Reading ?
The Andromeda Galaxy and State of Fear by Michael Crichton. I've read maybe 6 or 7 of Crichton's books and been disappointed by all of them except for Jurassic Park , which is my favorite science fiction novel hands down. These two were better than I expected and I enjoyed reading them. The only tw...

Been doing a fair bit of reading the last several months - Alexander the Great: Man and God by Ian Worthington. Very interesting book, well written. Also read re-read a favorite, How to Invent Everything: A Survival Guide for the Stranded Time Traveller by Ryan North. The Extraordinary Voyage of Pyt...

Re: Victorinox photo and discussion thread!
I've taken to carrying my Victorinox Hiker along in a side pocket with my flashlight. My primary cutting tool remains a large folder (CPM 4V Millie for the past several months) but it's fun to carry a SAK again.

Military and Police for me. Preference to the Milie because I find the linerlock easier and faster to use.

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
I have been using my St Nicks Military in CPM 4V ever since they dropped...food, cardboard, pallet banding, etc. - the usual. Been holding up really well - I've sharpened it twice? I think, since getting it. It'll be in my pocket for a while yet.

Re: Crowned spines
I agree Meh, a rounded spine seems like a small thing but it can add a lot to the feeling of high quality.
Sharpmaker might work but it'd be far from ideal. I'd use a belt sander, being very careful to not let the knife get to warm.

Re: manbug wharncliffe chat
I've had my Manbug wharnie for over a year now. I carry it literally every day after work or all day on weekends around the house. So much more useful than I had ever imagined. Capable of more than you'd think. I haven't pushed mine to absurd measures, but I can tell by how effortless it handles si...

Re: Spyderco Military 4V DLC St. Nick's Exclusive
Mines a perfect specimen… or near perfect. Very good F&F Same! My first thought was - wow, they really got this one perfect! Blade is dead center, no wiggle, no detent slop, detent is strong and crisp, blade action is very smooth, lockup is perfect with no blade play at all. Well done, Spyderco...

Re: AI, Sp AI derco knife. Let’s see what AI does with Spyderco designs
Yeah, I generally agree with the concerns raised about AI here. It's a fun technology to play around with but when it comes to creating art and design it feels too much like stealing from human ingenuity, and could lead to some deeply disturbing consequences. But of course the thread here is just fo...
