Re: Chaparral
XHP is good up to a point. Personally, in a small EDC folder corrosion resistance and edge retention are paramount. A default steel like M390/20CV/204P or M398 would serve better. Personally, I default to M390/20CV although M398 looks pretty sweet (haven’t tried it). Data below is from Larrin . http...

Re: Upping the price.
I just ordered a ManBug VG-10 SpyderEdge Leaf Blade (MBKLFS) and a ManBug VG-10 SpyderEdge Wharncliffe Blade (MBKWS). I’ll subjectively test them both by opening various packages and alternate with one week each over a month. I have quite a few ManBug and Ladybug folders over the years although I ga...

Re: Upping the price.
I carried a Warnie Manbug for quite a while. Very useful size. Now, I'm carrying a serrated leaf Manbug. Wouldn't be without it. sal Sal, may I ask: Any specific reasons why you switched from wharnie to leaf shape with the serrated one? (As far as I know the wharnie Manbug can be had with teeth too...

Re: Upping the price.
I carry a ManBug H-1 Salt Sheepsfoot SpyderEdge on my keychain. Very handy! It’s like a mini rescue knife and for opening packages in a bind. Don´t mean to turn this thread into a Manbug - discussion, but also not start a new one just for my two quick questions (I´d really appreciate a short reply)...

Re: Upping the price.
Another example of the price differential. I’m thinking of getting a watch pocket folder with a wharncliffe blade. The main choices seem to be the Lil Native, Baby Banter or Mini Pyrite. I like the Lil Native (I think I have 2), and I’m sure the wharnie will be a great blade, but it’s literally 3-4...

Re: Catcherman LC200N Sprint Run
I received mine tonight. Big, slicey, thin blade, great price, decent quality (some sharp edges on the FRN and blade hole), very light, slasher not stabber, etc. LC200N and the coated parts will make it last in salty & sweaty conditions. I’m a sucker for ComboEdge in long blades because it’s lik...

Re: Spyderco 2024 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming
The price of $213.75 for the Para3 with CPM-SPY27 Satin Blade & Cobalt Blue G-10 seems excessive considering Para3 with CPM-S45VN Satin Blade & Black or DigiCam G-10 is just $187.50!

Re: Chaparral
I have a feeling the last two remaining non-FRN Chaparral folders (Raffir Noble & Birdseye Maple) will be in the 2025 Discontinued List which will be announced later this year. Chaparral CF/G-10 and Sun & Moon were discontinued in August 2023 as part of the 2024 Official Discontinued List . ...

Re: Chaparral
— MagnaCut Yellow FRN — LC200N Green FRN — K390 Blue FRN Well said, any of these and I'm in. Would be very cool, but do/will they use MC and K390 in Taichung? Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Taichung already has Maxamet and will soon have SPY27 and Rex 121 all in the Sage FRN.

Re: Catcherman LC200N Sprint Run
GP getting greedy wanting $120.. not a Great Price :winking-tongue Once you add California Sales Tax it becomes $131.40 shipped! For REAL. It adds up. GP Knives’ $120 price is because they used the current MAP of 25% off MSRP instead of the old MAP of 30% off MSRP or $112 like others. MSRP on the C...
