Re: Knifejoy Exclusive...Slysz Bowie??!!

For those who are frustrated that this isn't finished like the old one, and/or it won't ship to Europe, may I offer an alternative way to view the situation? Perhaps look at this as a ray of hope. The door that was bolted shut has now been opened. Knife Joy saw the chatter here and on other social m...

Re: Runners and knives

Why is everyone always worried about sweating on a stainless steel knife, when I stack hay in the summer it’s 100+* and I can wring my shirt out , and some days I am offshore fishing covered in salt water spray, and I don’t have rust on my knives, even my case trapper doesn’t get rusty Please list ...

Re: What about the Endela

I'd love to have a liner-less, LC200N, Salt version of it. I like the size, but I've had too many bad experiences with clip screws that mount to the thin liners in most Spyderco knives of such arrangement.

Re: What about a Watu lightweight?

For me, a version with S30v and grippy G10 would work very well. FRN startup costs are very high. I agree. I don't think the Watu sells enough to warrant the cost of FRN molds. I'd love to see it in VG-10, LC200N, or another highly corrosion resistant steel that's easy to sharpen. Even something li...

Re: Colors - Talkin' Story - Marketing

I like bright, "friendly" colors because they make a knife look more tool and less intimidating as you mentioned, Sal. I've given my girlfriend a pink and purple zome Delica, which she likes because it's functional but also pretty. I like bright colors because they make it easy to find the...

She's adorable. I lost my pit mix back in October when she was about 14. They're such amazing, intelligent, affectionate dogs. Thank you for bringing yours in to your family and out of the shelter.

Re: Which one will dominate?

Larrin's words from the article are "the corrosion resistance ended up being even better than 20CV and just under stellar steels like Vanax or LC200N."

Re: Which one will dominate?

The mix of properties of CPM MagnaCut appeal most to me. But I think SPY27's homefield advantage is going to be hard to overcome.

Re: Can we have a Pepper Series of knives (as opposed to Salts)

The Native 5 Salt has the same size hole as the regular Native 5 LW, and it has no thumb ramp. The rest of the Native 5 line is also liner-less.

Re: Zero play lockbacks - fact or fiction?

I just did the spine pressure test Vivi described.

Three Native 5 LWs: Standard black / S30V, SE Salt, and MGE teal / S90V; Zero vertical blade play on any of the three.

D'fly 2 Salt SE: A small bit of vertical play.

Cold Steel Tuff Lite (Tri-AD Lock): Some vertical play.

Re: Question, Comp. lock

I love my Sage 5 LW. The true bushing pivot makes it amazingly smooth, and the Taichung FRN texture is great. If you like Sages, and you need a Comp Lock, the Sage 5 LW is a no-brainer.

Re: Knife Joy Exclusive Para 3 LW 20CV

If only this was not LW, I would love this in G10 same color bentoboxshop Also the wording everywhere seems to say exclusive instead of sprint, meaning a continuous production yes? Not necessarily. As far as I understand exclusives are for one dealer and either can be offered only once (like REC pa...

Re: Sage 5 Lightweight Frenzy

I like the design a lot, just waitin' for steel variations to sweep the lineup. Slap s90v on either the 2 or the 5 and I'm on it in an instant. I'd rather see a more corrosion resistant steel like S110V, 20CV, LC200N, or even Vanax in the Sage 2's liner-less Ti handle; but I'd still buy one with S9...

Re: Salt 2 LC200 questions

Two points in favor of LC200N over VG-10: Toughness Sharpening response ...and yes, dyeing the handles would be much easier, but you can't turn FRN into CF or Ti with Rit dye ;) But Spyerco could put an LC200N blade and cermic ball detent into the Sage 2, which would give us a knife with the Salt f...

Re: Need a Smimbo-small yojimbo

I think that was the intent of the Kahr Arms Delica. Yeah, but the Delica handle is still too small for many people, me among them. I also don't do knives that mount the the clip to the liner. The 5x5 pocket clip that mounts into the Yojimbo back spacer solves that. The Chicagojimbo solves the blad...

Re: Salt 2 LC200 questions

"Right, I like LC200 but don't need the full Salt corrosion resistance" I guess I don't really understand this desire. From what I've seen, the only advantage of LC200N over even VG-10 is corrosion-resistance. Edge-holding is similar or better in VG-10, and definitely better with S30V. So...

The Shaman is sometimes also called Striderco.
Kinda funny since the Shaman is a scaled up Native, and the first Natives were being sold a decade before Mick Strider ever made a folder.

Re: Most underappreciated steel?

I voted maxamet as it really is phenomenal. Everyone who likes Spyderco as a company should try one. It is so hard to work with and yet they keep producing it. I’m on the lookout for 52100 or AEB-L in the native 5. Great steels, just different. Having bought the MGE distributor teal S90V N5 LW when...
