I'm VERY eagerly awaiting the serrated lambsfoot Urban I've always had a mixed opinion about serrations, but if the Urban blade is easily changed out, and I can buy the serrated lambsfoot online for a reasonable price, I don't see why I wouldn't buy the serrated blade just to try it out. Well, I'm ...

I had a serrated Tasman that I've since sold. I really beat the **** out of that thing, and it kept coming back for more. FRN is a surprisingly strong material and should hold up fine to regular knife use. I wouldn't worry about the clip screw. I'm almost certain that Spyderco uses non-rusting metal...

The now discontinued Dodo had an excellent wire clip; it stayed put in the pocket and had very minimal side to side wobble.

I believe the line down the blade is the lamination line where the zdp is sandwiched between 420

I love the design- but have my doubts on the lock. Actually surprised that there isn’t a lock option…. Especially considered the popularity of the Caly3 versus the UK PK. Reply With Quote I believe the Caly 3 grew from requests for a UKPK with a lock, so if the Urban is popular enough, a locking ve...

The more I think about this knife the more I like the idea. I'm not limited regarding size/lock where I live, but have found myself wanting a modern slip/notch joint to carry. I try to carry a small fixed blade along with small a folder. I use the small fixed for most cutting chores, but the small ...

i'm having a difficult time deciding... scrape up the change to buy an orange UKPK now... or wait for an urban????? Might as well get both, so they, you know, match. I've almost broken down and picked up a UKPK in orange a couple times, but I think I have things under control now. The deciding fact...

I assume it is a full flat grind? This is one of the largest pros about the model for me. I'm not that big of a hollow grind fan; I find that a flat ground blade slices a lot better. I think the Urban will be the first utility geared flat ground wharnie folder in the Spyderco lineup. The only other...

-Orange G10 (friendly, hard to lose, and cool ) I think the Urban is a knife that could actually become "cool" with a portion of the public. I think a lot of people desire iPods for the iPod image, but iPods have become so popular because of their functionality underneath that image. The ...

The Spyderco Urban Hype Thread

http://i32.tinypic.com/2ro6lxv.jpg People carry knives in every environment on earth. No matter the landscape--gritty sand, thick foliage, hewn stone--we keep sharp tools by our sides. But as we grow and progress as a society, a different, manmade landscape threatens our ability t...

If that's the case, and enforcement of the law has become that whimsical in the City of New York, it would be an exercise in futility to even consider designing a knife to comply with it. I don't happen to think that's the case, but you obviously do, so I will not argue this any further. I'm really...

Joe, with all due respect, the thread is in off topic, it is about the eBay feedback system, and specifically about the way that system has been abused in the past by some seller's to retaliate for negative feedback they received, and a step (however unrealistic) the eBay is taking to address that....

That's quite a high horse there.
I for one didn't know about the limit, and they let me know when I ordered.
I don't think anyone was "cheating"

I'm referring to people who knew about the limit and tried to get around it. And in that regard, I'm quite comfortable on my horse.

Some of you tried to cheat and get more than 2?

You might want to find a new knife company. I don't think Spyderco's the one for you. Don't worry, there are plenty of other knife companies out there where I'm certain you'll feel right at home.

A prybaby collaboration would be huge for Spyderco. At a reasonable price they would sell well as companions to Spyderco knives.

It'd also be nice to be able to point to it the next time someone complains about breaking the tip off his/her military.

It would be nice to see a fully serrated wharnie in the lineup. I don't think Spyderco has ever produced such a model. Have they?
