Re: Show me your sharpening setup

EDIT: You don't need fancy pants stones for a mirror, sandpaper to 2000 grit then the listed diamond compounds on tape or paper will give you a clean mirror too, and a sharp one at that https://youtu.be/V5t8vhQb54w

Re: Reinhold Rhino Update

Just got mine in from the good folks at SFO for the calendar contest. Its a fantastic knife. Going to take a bit of work to get the action to where I don't have to do hand acrobatics to close it 1 handed. And I do feel like it is begging for a liner lock, but they're my only gripes, its great otherw...

Re: Would you buy more or less Spydercos if they were all made in the same steel?

If they were all M4 or M390 , I would continue buying and be pretty **** happy :D If they were all S30v, I would buy them but maybe not as many as the steel is often one of the parts that draws me into buying a knife or sometimes multiples. If they were all something like VG10, BD1 etc, I'd probably...

Re: Spy dk centering issue

My old FRCP manix did the same thing with the clip screw. But I was lucky in that I was able to use the grooves for the wire clip to get some pliers on one side and undo the screw.... In your case I dont know what to do. I tried all the previous suggestions and none worked, even the superglue one. O...

Re: I s’pose it’s what you get used to.

5-6 years ago I had a fluted and a Grey/ Cruwear millie. I carried them for a bit and inevitably sold them. They just didnt grow on me. Last year I bought a Shaman and instantly fell in love with it and thought it was spyderco's best design so far....Few months later I bought a S110v Millie and for ...

Re: How to get a coarse edge?

Brown rods leave a fantastic Coarse edge . I often polish my edges and run a coarse microbevel. I then get the aesthetics of a mirror edge and the cutting performance of a coarse edge :) Stropping the 600 grit edge will help you refine the teeth. Of you can do a couple of swipes per side with the UF...

I cant see it either using Chrome on a windows 10 desktop. I highly recommend imgur. You can upload to a private album and it doesn't compress the pictures at all. :)

Hopefully my Full resolution entry actually posted through. The page took a long time to load , then when it presumably sent, it was the same screen again, no confirmation that the picture had sent.

Knife: Spyderco Military S110v
The Military knife has been my go-to knife for a little while now. It is incredibly lightweight, there are many steel and colour variants and most importantly, it is comfortable to use and cuts very well. Image

Re: Share your Edge| CPM S110v

I find its more hassle than its worth getting it to split hair, so I take it to either 500 or 1000 grit on Shapton glass. with a couple of passes on the 16k and a few swipes on a 0.25 strop.
