I've never been a Country music fan, but man back in the day when he'd show up on the Bob & Tom show I became a huge fan of his, the guy was hilarious, he would have them rolling!

Yup, that how I found out about him too. :cheap-sunglasses

Re: Oppenheimer - My Opinion

I was stoked about this movie, and so was my wife. We watched it half way through and turned it off. To say we were bored and disappointed is an understatement. The movie didn't know if it was coming or going. The time line kept changing and bizarre things were going on for no good reason, and it w...

Re: Oppenheimer - My Opinion

i think it would have been better suited as a miniseries almost. his early life, early career, manhattan project, etc all could have been separate episodes. i felt like they tried to jam too much of a timeline into a few hours and sort of didn't give each aspect enough justice, so it felt empty. i ...

Thanks Fellas. I had really regretted not going to the theater to see Oppenheimer.

It's worth watching if you stream it, and don't have to spend any serious money to do it. ;)

Oppenheimer - My Opinion

Oppenheimer 2023. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15398776/ I saw it, was OK, not all that good as the hype said for sure. It could have been shorter, a lot shorter actually for the content it had, or lack there of actually, could have been 60 mins to 90 mins. The TV Show Manhattan 2014-2015 was MUCH ...

Re: RIP Cindy Morgan and David Soul.

RIP to both. TBH, I wasn't as familiar with Cindy Morgan, but I definitely remembered David Soul, more for Salem's Lot than for Starsky & Hutch (which I didn't really watch back then). I also remember him from Here Come the Brides, and IIRC, as a bad guy in one of the Dirty Harry movies. I also...

Well could always go with a smaller knife too. Like a Winkler Belt Knife, this one is in 3V. https://scontent-iad3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/415227909_10219505591830600_1759821509531028354_n.jpg?_nc_cat=103&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=dd5e9f&_nc_ohc=NeaPhTPwX-EAX8P4eUW&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2....

Re: Best fixed blade replacement for the Ka-bar?

During WWII many soldiers carried a Ka-bar for a variety of tasks; today knife enthusiasts have a plethora of quality options that will fill the same roles. If you were transported back in time to serve in a 20th century war, or you were placed in a gritty survival situation that called for a knife...

Re: Why is 1095 steel popular amongst knife makers?

It's already been said, but yeah, its cheap and easy to work with. It blows me away when I see $200+ knives made from 1095. I could care less how good someone is at blade smithing, no knife made of 1095 is worth that much. That's like paying $50 for a McDonalds cheeseburger. (Which I suppose isn't ...

Re: Why is 1095 steel popular amongst knife makers?

It's popular among knife MAKERS because people buy them... Not really. ;) MOST people buy from a maker due to their reputations, what types of knives and or other cutting tools they specialize in. Steel doesn't really matter so much. There are a lot of non stainless steels that makers use other tha...

Re: Why is 1095 steel popular amongst knife makers?

Having known a number of competitors, there are many reasons I do not go on there, it is reality tv. You're not wrong about that. Implying that 1095 shouldn't be used for swords though - that's ridiculous. 1095 can absolutely be used to make highly functional, large-scale cutlery. I never said it w...

Re: Why is 1095 steel popular amongst knife makers?

I do when Dave Baker makes it at the very least. Curious though, are you saying it's just staged? It's reality TV... ;) Walter Sorrels uses a 1095/1050 mix ( averages to about 1070, but has nice, subtle contrast for hada effect) in beautiful Japanese style swords with high performance. He does stra...
