Re: Admitting when wrong
The Delica is a bit more fragile and thin, but at least for me, it hits a nice happy medium for EDC. It's enough knife, while being not that much to carry. That said, for me at least, Delica's better for carrying all day (compact size and weight), the Native's better for cutting all day (given ergos...

Re: Urban Slipjoint 'action' not crisp
I've always looked at the Urban and UKPK as being knives where the main point of control is the thumb and index finger pinching the blade, with the handle being there for additional grip. The action being a bit softer and less crisp than many traditionals doesn't particularly bother me. But I'm also...

We have a service that is constantly monitoring the market and keeping us informed daily of infringement. We have crew that is constantly communicating with any that don't comply. Even Amazon is getting better, but any way we do it, it's still "wack-a-mole". sal Hi Sal, thanks for sharing...

Re: Official 2018 Catalog Discussion
Hi LC, that is actually the Waterway. The design went through quite an evolution and the picture shown with the name is actually an older prototype. The Waterway will look like the picture on page 116-117. Hopefully it won't go into the print version like that but if it does, I trust you guys will ...

Re: MAP policy change? 35%
I'd like to see them dump Amazon altogether ... I'm in the same boat, actually. I don't mind Amazon as a company, but my biggest objection to MAP is uneven enforcement, which negates the only consumer-facing benefit that MAP has (Supporting smaller dealers). So if Spyderco's going to do MAP at all,...

I'd love to see a Slysz Bowie in M390/204P/20CV, with a CF or Ti Backspacer.

Re: Sell me the Schempp Bowie...or not
Talking to Ed about that knife, and handling his personal model, was one of the highlights of Blade Show for me. It's not my style, particularly, but it's absolutely a respectable and well-thought-out knife.

Re: MAP policy change? 35%
Yikes. This is gonna be a tough pill to swallow for a lot of people, a 5% across-the-board price increase on top of whatever product specific hikes. Particularly given that it'll hit the lower priced items too. 8.3% Yeesh. Well, hopefully this gives Spyderco the capital to walk the 'supporting smal...

Re: Lock type and blade thickness
I've often suspected this, too. Knives where the lockbar doesn't travel laterally, but is inserted at full width into the path of the blade somehow (e.g. ball bearing lock, moving bar locks, bolt action, backlocks) seem like they'd be more easily able to be made thin.

Re: Discontinued For 2018 - OFFICIAL List
Hey, everyone: I'm bumping this back up for an update. We've recently added the C186TIP - Slysz Bowie to the list of discontinued items for 2018. I've edited my original post accordingly but I didn't want it to get overlooked. Kristi Noooooooooo! :( I'll miss this one, as it's the best higher-end k...

This is a beautiful warranty, which addresses all of the concerns I'd had previously. The fact that CQI applies even to warranties is a beautiful thing. Thanks, Spyderco.

Hopefully eBay paid out the nose, enough to incentivize them to take the problem seriously and address this for the whole community. I hope other companies are next in line, if the bay doesn't address the problem.

Looks like a nice, subtle gentleman's EDC folder. A real lunchroom-friendly piece.
