Re: Vegas EDC

The Electric Daisy Carnival lets people bring in knives? Don’t know. Wasn't a real question. Electric Daisy Carnival is a huge rave series that runs in Vegas. I would guess that 999 sentences out of 1000 that feature "EDC" and "Vegas" have nothing to do with everyday carry.

Re: Confederate flag Spyderco Pride knife, custom order....

It's only "just a flag" if you don't think slavery, and those who committed treason to defend it, were evil. It's a real simple thought experiment: if OP was requesting a swastika knife, or the hammer and sickle of the old Soviet flag, would THAT seem just fine? No. It wouldn't. But you du...

Re: Confederate flag Spyderco Pride knife, custom order....

Maybe a Benedict Arnold model, too, make a whole series of knives commemorating treason?

EDIT: But seriously, if Spyderco makes a confederate themed knife, I'm buying all future knives elsewhere.

I got a Counter Puppy to be the knife for all the people in my family who refuse to use knives properly. Man, it's really nice.

I wash them any time there is steel residue visible on them. Night and day difference between dirty stones and fresh stones, especially higher grit ceramics.
Yeah, as soon as you can see some streaking, it's time.

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread

How are you going to sharpen a 10 (20 combined) degree angle on say a Sharpmaker? You could use the 30 to resharpen it untill you need to reprofile the blade. What do you do then? It's actually not that hard to register the existing sides of a bevel on the stone and follow the existing grind freeha...

I don't think the FRN is rigid enough for a knife as stabby as the Yojimbo.

I have no idea whether that would make a good user, but the design is incredibly organic and evocative of scary birds.

Re: A question for Sal regarding the Rockjumper

This is one of the few designs where Spyderco's tendency toward small blade:grip ratios doesn't bother me. I'm pretty surprised it's not selling well, although maybe people just don't think they need a mountaineering knife. Given a choice between this and the Endela Wharnie, though, I'd go with this...

Re: CPM MagnaCut | Edge Performance

Shipping the mules with no edge would also mean that you don't have to waste any steel if you want to take the angle down to 12 degrees or what have you.

Re: CPM MagnaCut | Edge Performance

Thanks, OP. It's always nice to have numbers to go with all the other adjectives flying around. I'm stoked to see they're running this steel in the 62-63 range. I think with toughness in the same general range as Cru-Wear and 4V, we ought to all get pretty good results taking the factory edge down t...
