Interesting design. And I really like the pictures. The blade looks real short compared to the handles, so it leads me to believe that it will not filp (dance) very well. Also it appears that the finger guard might just get in the way. Kind of looks like a Stanley box knife with "bali" han...

Does a buffer running at 1800 rpm vs the typical 3200 rpm make a positive difference in keeping heat down? Yes it does. Buffers typically spin at 3600 rpm are for metals and buffers that spin at 1800 rpm are for plastics. Both can polish metals. There are many types of polishing compounds and and b...

The baldor buffer is probably the best you can get. Mine is 1/3 hp 3600 rpm. Mine was free but the going price is in the 300 dollar range. If you need buffing weels or compounds check out The Eastwood Company. http://www.eastwoodco.com/ Great company and no price for shipping. you will learn a lot w...

This was my first spydie.

The spur and the propgrip have kind of the same shaped blade. I like the idea but doubt it would sell very well like the progrip and the spur.

Harry-

I believe the ZDP/TI model is a Frame Lock, not a liner lock like you stated.
The other cyclone models are a liner lock. Maybe that is another reason for the increased price for this model.

I believe the original mairner had flat scales without the vent. Than the new improved one is where they added beveled edges and the vent, little things but a good improvement. How do you like the addition of the wave on the new rescue? Another great improvement. JD is right, this classic will be ar...

You have some good thoughts on our thread about the mariner. When I bought my first spydie many years ago it was between the hunter and the mariner, I don't think there were many models to choose from than. I got the hunter model. I know people dislike the stainless models as being to slippery but I...
