My 2 cents on the Chaparral 5: Titanium bolsters with and exotic wood like Desert Ironwood or Snakewood, something with a little pattern in it. Another homerun in my opinion would be to do something similar to what Chris Reeves does with his Sebenzas. Maybe a tumbled titanium with two wood inlay on ...

Which Spyderco's does Sal Carry?

Anyone privy to what Sal is carrying these days or what his favorite Spyderco's are. I know he like the Ladybug/Manbug but I'm sure there are a few more in his rotation that he prefers over others. Maybe the man himself will comment if I'm lucky. Actually now that I think of it I'm curious about wha...

I ended up sending it back to Spyderco and asked them to take a look and fix it for me. They chose to instead send me a replacement and I must say it is smooth as butter. Thanks Spyderco for taking good care of me!

If size matters then you chose correctly. I would have gone with Nishijin Dragonfly but I like small knives.

diesel79, welcome to the forum. You have a nice start to your collection, as you say you like a larger blade. I would recommend one of your next purchases be a smaller gentlemans knife for when you are all dressed up and need something to just drop into or clip onto your pocket that just disappears....

I thought that a lesser steel like S30V (which is still a great steel) would bring the price point down to where more people could afford the knife. I'm hoping the lack of Southards means the Domino is being produced! That would be awesome, I'm really curious about the Domino. more importantly, when...

Southard Flipper: 2nd Run, When?

Anyone know when the next round of Southard Flippers are going to be available? They are pretty much sold out everywhere.

Will they sport the CTS-204P blade steel or will they be wearing something else, S30V?

Great review. Your talking points are very unique. Usually a knife review is the same old same old, not this one!

It would be great if we could notate the knife that has been "raised" at the top or bottom of our picture, or even in the picture. Some of these I don't know what they are.

I just tried to loosen the pivot screws to see if maybe they were too tight. The pivot screw on the right side (the side that a right hand would open the knife) was tight but I was able to loosen it. The pivot screw on the left side is like somebody welded that sucker in there. I tried with all my m...

My understanding is this issue was corrected after the first production run of the CF Chaparral. What is the date code on your knife box? It should be two uppercase letters. Thanks Jack. Mine code is DL which denotes April 2012. Here is the link I used for Spyderco Date Codes. Don't know when the f...

I'm 2/3 of the way there. I have both Chaparral and Delica 4 (blue). Techno is next on my radar right after Leaf Storm. I think it depends on OP's type of edc. If casual edc then go Delica, if gentleman's edc then go Chaparral. They are both great and I see he has gone Delica. Can't go wrong there. ...

Annoying Issue with my Chaparral

I'll start off by saying that I love the Chaparral. I am close to calling it one of the best small gentlemans folders for around $100 except for one very annoying problem. My example has an annoying gritty sound whenever I open it one handed using the Spydie Hole. Both left handed and right handed. ...
