Re: Lc200n Dragonfly 2

After using both, I heavily prefer SE LC200N over SE H1. It’s much easier to sharpen for me, and holds an edge about as long, or longer through heavy duty industrial cardboard. My SE Dragonfly salt and my ZDP Dragonfly are my most used work knives. I’d love to get an SE LC200N version. In the mean t...

Re: KC Exclusive Shaman Rosewood REX 45

I prefer smooth g10 with good ergos. The shaman, smooth native, raffir noble chaparral, and cold steel ultimate hunter are my favorite handles. Definitely liking the scales on this shaman so far.

Re: KC Exclusive Shaman Rosewood REX 45

Feels like wood to me. Mine has a grainy texture running parallel with the handle. I like it so far, but first splinter I get, I’d have to replace them. I have an irrational and overpowering hatred for splinters 😑.

Completely ambidextrous. Drumming helps a lot with training ambidextrousness.

Re: Damascus Shaman

If they make one of these, spyderco should do that Vanax Damascus (dc18n steel). Go all out!

Re: KC Exclusive Shaman Rosewood REX 45

Definitely still in. Diamondwood is much more my cup of tea than solid wood. Now I won’t have to worry about swapping the scales :D .

Re: Reveal 4, What's your favorite release?

The rex 45 Native Chief is the only one I’ll try for, as I’ve already got a preorder for the KC Rex 45 Shaman. Once again, the Manix XL was left out from the Golden sprint linup :( .

Re: KC Exclusive Shaman Rosewood REX 45

I’m surprised I got my order in. I just checked the spyderco website a little after midnight, and saw this thread. Pretty excited!

Re: KC Exclusive Shaman Rosewood REX 45

Preordered. I’m not a fan of wood scales, but the rex45 sold it for me. I’ll try it with the scales first, and if I don’t like them, I’ll look for some aftermarket titanium or micarta.

Re: SpyderEdge 2020 (A Personal "Challenge")

While cutting through some hard plastic, the plastic snapped and the blade flew out of my hand into the corner of a metal support pillar where it meets the floor. The angle was apparently perfect. And I’m a firm believer in the toughness of LC200N after this happened.

Can’t bend it back because it’s firmly folded completely against the back of the blade.

Re: SpyderEdge 2020 (A Personal "Challenge")

I like SE, and I find them easy to sharpen after carrying serrations for the last couple months, but repairing an tooth that gets badly damaged is exponentially more difficult than repairing a plain edge. I’m going to have to send my SE Caribbean in because one of the teeth got folded over 180 degre...

Re: Philosophy of locks

If it’s strong enough to be reliable it’s fine. Extra strength past that is more for peace of mind in a potential emergency, but is unlikely to ever actually be necessary.

Re: Liner Lock Failure??

The reason I generally avoid liner locks and framelocks is because they need to have a finger in the blade path to close, not because the are likely to fail. For a careful user a linerlock is safe to use, but accidents happen, and being bumped on the shoulder when closing a liner/frame lock can easi...

Re: Rex 45 vs K390?

K390 is a rust bucket had it in Police4 and will never buy it again. If REX45 is worse, really why this discussion? Because extremely effective rust preventatives like eezox exist. So long as you don’t use your non-stainless folders for food prep, there is zero reason to care about corrosion resist...
