Re: Sliverax Mod-Squad: pinups & give-away

Howdy everyone and Happy New Year! First off, many thanks to all who participated in this thread. It was very cool seeing all the pictures and submissions, definitely interesting to see how people adapted the Sliverax to their own personal preferences, maybe it gave some others a couple of ideas the...

Re: Spyderco Parata

Lots of love for this design. Is it purpose driven or just a collectable? I’m guessing it would make a quite capable skinning knife with all the belly it has; but I’m not much of a hunter, so I don’t want say that definitively. In addition, the knife really excels at cutting sheet-like materials li...

Re: Sliverax Mod-Squad: pinups & give-away

The only mod I’ve done to my Silverax is by tuning the detent to have a snappier action. I guess it’s oretty pointless to post since it’s visually still the same, but the action has vastly improved for the flipper. Still counts in my book! Post a pic and PM me an address if you’d like the stickers....

Re: Spyderco Parata

So Paul tell me if I'm following you correctly...this lock is YOUR design or is essentially the same as Spyderco's version? Maybe it's not your place to say but should we expect this lock to be on future models (Military 2) or is this more your own design? Howdy D, The stop-lock in the Parata is my...

Re: Spyderco Parata

Howdy all, Thanks for the interest and feedback, it’s been years since the Parata design was first submitted, so it has been especially rewarding to see this one come to fruition. I’m sure all the refinement and validation the Spyderco crew had to do on the locking mechanism accounts for most of tha...

Re: If you love something, stop carrying it for a while..AKA Sliverax relationship update

Absolutely, I liked mine so much I got one to grind off the flipper and EDC one for the collection. I would love to know what you are going to do for an encore Paul. :) Howdy holeshot, I think I have 4+ models that I’ve submitted that are still unreleased, a couple probably fairly close to producti...

Re: If you love something, stop carrying it for a while..AKA Sliverax relationship update

Howdy D, Glad to hear she hasn’t completely lost her luster after the honeymoon... especially when up against such stiff competition. And some sort of ‘exotic’ sprint would be very cool to see, but I have no idea if sales are going well enough to justify such a thing. I wonder if something like Kick...

Re: Sliverax Mod-Squad: pinups & give-away

I thought I would get in on the fun here! Here's my Sliverax choil modification. Every time I open this knife my index naturally gravitated past the scales; it was time to figure out a proper choil. Bonus for easy sharpening! I originally had a thinner web of material between the Spydie hole and ch...

Re: Paul Alexander Sliverax in France

Thanks for taking her out and showing her the sights, Nemo. ;) Also, any of these pics qualify for surroundings mod of the sticker give-a-way not to mention the convex edge, which definitely counts. If you are interested, just post one or a link here: //forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=763...

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

Paul, I have a question that's sort of unrelated to the knife. You have an interesting maker's mark with the lines and circles. I noticed most maker's marks usually are composed of the maker's initials but yours seems more like a symbol. Is there a story behind how you came up with it? Is there a m...

Re: Sliverax Mod-Squad: pinups & give-away

Awesome. Considering that Paul mentioned it, almost like he planned and you executed the shortening  Yeah, I was realizing that was gonna seem a little weird. I have been contemplating that mod ever since getting the knife - I'm actually kind of addicted to chopping down knives, and have done ...

Sliverax Mod-Squad: pinups & give-away

Howdy all, I’ve got a few stacks of maker’s mark stickers that are waiting to be distributed, so I needed a mechanism to get them into the hands of folks that may be interested; and this is what I came up with… C54AC7D6-9407-4593-864B-7337354E40DA.png Post an original pic of your modded Sliverax in ...

Re: Hey Sal, here's my Sliverax proposal..

2018 Forum knife? :) How about flipperless/Pakkawood/M4? (would rather see a Pakka/HAP40 Ouroboros personally, but seems I'm in the slim minority there.) Having one of my designs selected to be a forum knife would be a real honor; the forum is how I got started designing knives and got connected to...

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

If I could figure out how to mount a clip onto a strongly rounded handle I'd have some thick G10 scales made and then contour them myself. A handle like this would be insane with a sculpted handle. I've been thinking about the same problem a little... I think I'll try to mill some on the drill pres...

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

I did the mod to shorten the flipper tab this morning and it works much better now. Cool work asenna, that will definitely improve cut-out clearance. I'm guessing the more rounded tab will also make it easier to "push button" flip, if that is your preferred opening method. I'm really enjo...

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

I am pulling down and away so that my finger doesn’t even touch the back spine of the knife. It fires well with that motion and my finger doesn’t run into the lock and open back. ^^ THIS!!!^^ Howdy all, sorry to bring up an old comment, I must have missed it earlier, but this is how the knife was d...
