Re: Sharpmaker bar keepers friend

BKF contains oxalic acid, so it works with metal (and rust) particles better than Comet.

I use the powder with good results (noticably better/faster than Comet), but haven't used the liquid, so can't really comet to that.. ;)

Re: AFI Performance Flash Batch

Why are you trying to make this into something it isn't? I know I have a lot going on in my personal life so maybe I'm a little more sensitive about things these days than I should be but it seems to me there has been a change in tone over the last year where people seem to want to argue over thing...

Re: AFI Performance Flash Batch

Tvenuto seems to be the one coming at this from a logical, neutral perspective and doesn't seem argumentative. Others seem to be arguing simple logic which Tvenuto or anyone else could have stated or they're really just pushing an agenda which may apply only to them. Kudos Tvenuto, if my kudos mean...

Re: AFI Performance Flash Batch

You seem to be pitching this as an unequivocal performance upgrade, which is misleading. I'm simply saying it will slice better, nothing more nothing less. It won't be the go to do it all knife and it shouldn't be. That's why I said I'm not suggesting they do this across the entire lineup but inste...

Re: AFI Performance Flash Batch

Nobody is suggesting they change the entire lineup to this. This is why a flash batch or small limited run would be a good idea. It won't appeal to everyone but it would be fun to play with. I think you're looking way off to the far end of the spectrum. You don't need to thin out a Delica so much t...

I'll support this idea for the sake of my fellow knife aficionados, but personally, I find the Spyderco factory grinds to be more than sufficient for my uses.
Don't get me wrong, I am *perfectly* happy with all my examples... But more of a good thing intrigues me!

Re: AFI Performance Flash Batch

In. I've mentioned a few times that I'd like to see a "Sprint" of the Delica with the old "splinter-picker" tip. (I know I can grind my own) I think the team could come up with some awesome *spec* versions for the AFI crowd... I'm thinking "Grind Sprints", instead of &q...

Another good exclusive idea for KW would be an XL version of the 52100 Manix. That one has really impressed me so far.
Agreed!

The new SG looks good. But Massdrop has it. Why not the other vendors?
Cause it's a Massdrop exclusive?

Dunno, usually big smiles indicate good-natured statements? I generally like to give the benefit of the doubt.
I considered that prior to posting.

That consideration beget "I don't *believe*..."

Edit:
I am generally a "benefit of the doubt/devil's advocate" type, as well.

Vitrified CBN hones? Where? Link? I bought them from the Hapstone Pro web site (Ukraine) close to two years ago. They had a wide range of abrasives and all sorts of sharpening accessories at unbeatable prices and excellent service. I visited the site a few weeks ago and again just then to be sure b...

Re: Taking apart knives

Spyderco has generally been helpful to overseas customers that need minor hardware replacements over the years (from my observations, only, as I reside in the US). They appear to draw the line when the issue is deeper, that may affect the safety of the knife, then they request it be sent in. Has you...
