Re: Para 3 Maxamet
I'm not talking about production blades that want to be optimal to a wide range of people, and where optimal performance for that specific steel is not being reached for multiple good reasons. K2 and A11 mule is ran at 64-65 by Spydeco (based on tests done by people posting here, I don't own any), ...

Re: Para 3 Maxamet
Based on what ? Based on my own use of multiple A11 type steels at 65 to 69HRC and Maxamet at 70-71HRC, both used at multiple higher or lower edge angles, and I'm pretty sure others noticed that. k390, 10V, even S110V and other high vanadium carbide volume steels will hold a razor edge way better t...

Re: Para 3 Maxamet
Is the future of the g-10 Maxamet models looking better than before? It appears that the Para 3 Maxamet has been successful, as far as no issues with the final product.

HRC m390
I did a little digging through the forum back to 2011 reading up on production heat treat ranges. It appears that m390 was 59-60. It appears that s90v was in the same range as well. Is this still the current range for the Colorado models?

CQI and heat treat
Does Spyderco continuously improve on their heat treat as runs progress through the years? For example, s110v from 2016 production vs s110v from the latest batch. Has there been tweaks to the heat treat to improve parameter x,y, or z? Or is it simply the case that after the first production run or t...

Re: New Models Dropped: ATR 2, Para 3 Maxamet
I noticed that the Para 3 Maxamet has a slightly rounded spine. It seems to be a really nice effect from the stone washing. It seems to be perfect all around.
It is really nice model. I am impressed with it Spyderco!

Re: HAP 72 or CPM REX 121 Spydie
Another steel to add to the category, so Bohler gets their name in the hat, is S290 Microclean. Very similar makeup except the S290 is higher in Tungsten where Hap72 is higher in Molybdenum. S290 Microclean vs Hap72 in Mass %. C:2.00 vs 2.1 W:14.27 vs 9.5 V:4.83 vs 5.00 Cr:3.77 vs 4.00 Mo:2.49 vs 8....

Re: HAP 72 or CPM REX 121 Spydie
Hoping to keep this alive...I imagine that if Spyderco is mastering Maxamet, then Rex 121 wouldn't be that much of a jump in the manufacturing process. On another note, I think there would be a market for even the mule blade in Maxamet and Rex 121. Say a run once a year for each or either of those. ...

Re: Shipping of internal parts
I think you guys are onto something with this idea. As others have said, start with the Golden and other top selling models. As far as passing on the cost, I think in most cases it would still outweigh the alternatives and still be worth it. It could even start out as simple as email and phone order...

Re: Maxamet PM 2
yeah, im a little scared to buy one of these for all of the reports I am seeing. I do want a native to try though. we shall see.. Maxamet is good to go. Just like any manufactured item, there will be a few with issues, but those get way more attention than the other that are ok. Remember when S110V ...
