Re: 2023 Official Discontinued List
Noob question here. Is there any rhyme or reason to when/where these discontinued knives go on sale? I happily picked up a Serrata last year at a "discontinued" price. Great knife by the way. It all depends… it can be tricky. Some distributors reduce the price of discontinued knives, some...

Re: Tips On Quitting Smoking
Personally I would never vape. I know vaping can be harmful if you get your product from a non-reputable source.
Remember nicotine is a drug.

Re: Tips On Quitting Smoking
It's all willpower period. I quit, end of MAY this year after my Heart Attack. I just stopped cold turkey, just smoke your last one the night before going to bed. Then just don't pick another one up. It helps to keep busy however. Thanks, I’m really thinking this is the only way to go. The smoking ...

Re: Chief or Shaman for self defense?
Of the two I would pick the Chief. In all reality though a cougar is so much more powerful and fast than a person you wouldn’t have much of a fighting chance with just a knife. It’s better than nothing though. There was a story on the forum a while back about a man defending himself successfully fro...

Re: To DLC or not to DLC?
I did put other, because I didn't have the chance to try Spyderco's DLC yet. I've had some TiCn (I think that's how it's called), and another PVD coating, and a DLC from another brand. The DLC coating seemed to be the most durable, and resistant to scratches. I'm not into black blades, but I don't ...

Re: To DLC or not to DLC?
This is my DLC S30V PM2. It’s my oldest and probably one of my most used Spyderco‘s and the DLC has held up quite well. I think most of these marks could be removed with Flitz but I’ve never used it on this knife.

Re: To DLC or not to DLC?
I dont think there has ever been a factory dlc police. That would have been ticn. Although Im not sure about the older ones. No the Police I’m referring to was a custom DLC job on a PE stainless handle. A member shared a pic here a while ago. It was such an awesome looking knife. I think if Spyderc...

To DLC or not to DLC?
This question is purely to satisfy my personal curiosity. I do like DLC. It can change the looks of a knife, sometimes drastically. Ever seen an all DLC Spyderco Police? WOW! It does get scratched but not nearly as bad as I imagined it would. I also appreciate the light discipline it offers as I’m s...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
that stonewash looks so good. i know yours is custom, but i wish spyderco would offer more models with it. I agree, Spyderco does need to give the stonewash treatment to more knives. I put off buying a Shaman hoping for a sprint run color combo I liked. When Cutlery Shop dropped the orange G-10 Sha...

Re: PM2 or PM2?
Quick answer: PM2 Long answer: I own the 20CV version. My amazing wife bought me it for my last birthday before the S90V version came out. I’m definitely not disappointed though. Both are nice. Like others have said the steels should perform similarly. The thing I didn’t notice until kennethsime poi...

Re: The World Is overrun by Zombies. What knife do you choose.
No machete? Well, it was nice knowing ya. I’ll take an Ontario machete and a Spyderco Military. Right! I’ve got a WW2 Springfield bayonet the long one… the blade is around 20 inches; this would be my go to but it would definitely need a bit of sharpening. I’ll play along though If you’re talking cu...

Re: Endura Salt?
I personally think it would be a bit redundant for Spyderco to make a Endura Salt considering the Pacific Salt is basically the same knife except for slight blade shape differences. I voted Endela by the way but, I think the Rock Jumper would be a better choice for a knife in this size range to give...

Re: Your value line knives
I've been thinking about getting another one to try out for work. Wish they sharpened the full edge on em. That’s a very easy fix, I did it to mine :winking-tongue But you gotta be careful… I also know why they didn’t! Exactly… I really don’t mind that small bit of unsharpened blade at the base. It...
