+ I don't see collecting as hoarding really. Collecting is usually strategic, if it's not well then maybe that is hoarding. + If you like a knife and purchase more than two of the very same model—one beyond a back-up—that is very clearly hoarding and there is something wrong with you. + If you find ...

The Para2 design is as close to perfect as I've seen, it's a classic. Initially mine was sort of hard to close with one hand, but now it has broken-in rather nicely. The problem might have to do with manufacturing/tooling rather than the design of the knife itself.

I agree with alancamby, Grizzled, MCM and others. My Para2 lock is difficult to close. It seems that I need to bring the lock-bar into contact with the scale to get it to disengage. In addition to lengthening the lock tab I wonder too if the lock bar could be bent inward in a less abrupt way? [It wo...

I hate to be critical of such a great company and product but I must agree that the lock disengagement is difficult. I'm a bit concerned about cold wet hands in January... fumbling. Additionally, I haven't found a way to close it one-handed that isn't somewhat dangerous. Other than this one function...

Good comments overall. I must totally agree with kbuzbee, he summed it up rather well. The amount of ball travel as stated above by P40_Warhawk is seems like a solid observation. If I might add; is lateral blade play caused by bending/flaring of the liners near the tang? Or is it caused by a stretch...

Good Stuff

Like so many out there, I too have held off on the Para. The design seemed unfinished to me. I myself wouldn't label the Para-2 improvements as 'refinements' and I'm happy that Spyderco has the sense to advance/correct this knife. Good design, i.e. good ergonomics and usefulness always precede senti...

Colors should be similar to usage in popular knives. Rescue orange with silver. Perhaps Foliage green with black and silver? -P

The Manix 2 looks toyish compared to the 'seriousness' of the others. I'm not just referring to its blue skin either. -P

Spectacular design. I think that it's the best production knife out there right now. With regards to heavy use; I too wonder if wet hands will grip on CF as well as G10. As a hunting knife what would you think of orange G10? -P

Rough Jimping / CTS Manix 2

Just got a CTS-XHP Foliage Green Manix 2 yesterday. I am a bit surprised in that the jimping and adjacent blade tang is a bit rough. It looks a bit 'cobby' but functions perfectly well. On all of my other Spydercos the jimping is clean and precise. Just wondering if anyone has a thought—experience—i...

Why not?

Jeez, tough crowd. To have parts inventory seems like a reasonable request. Especially for those parts that are vulnerable to wear or breakage. There are a lot of non-knife companies out there that maintain inventory–for decades. The storage space and initial cost for stock would be nominal wouldn't...

Gayle Bradley with alternative steels. Extended jimping on top and jimping added to the bottom tang. G10 scales. Expand the line-up for this knife, it really is an extraordinary design.

I for one would like to have the sharp jimping to the edge. You can always remove it if you prefer, but if the jimping isn't there to begin with, I can't replace it .
