Re: Shaman Z-Wear Sprint - General Discussion & Support thread - (not alerts)
Still no progress, mine is still at customs. 13 days no movement now - unbelievable. Now I need to go to hospital for a few days and won't be able to pick it up. My wife agreed to do it. If they manage to complete their *EDITED - Family Friendly Please* process in a week or ...

Re: Z-Wear Shaman lookout thread
Knivesandtools has (at least!) one less than they had a couple of days ago. Mine arrived today and I'm keeping it! It's flawless and as lovely as could be. Fantastic design + the best handle material on the planet = what's not to like!

Yes, I only really noticed the price after placing the order! I realised it's THE MOST EXPENSIVE KNIFE I'VE EVER BOUGHT!
(Usually I draw a line at 200 euros!)

Re: Shaman Z-Wear Sprint - General Discussion & Support thread - (not alerts)
I missed the ones at selected knives - they usually have good prices - but this Shaman wasn't even on my radar so I wasn't looking out for it. Just saw them today at Knivesandtools and lost control of my wallet. It's already in the post!

Re: Z-Wear Shaman lookout thread
I just noticed them appearing on the "New Products" page of Knivesandtools - I hadn't even been aware this sprint run was on its way. Needless to say I thought I better grab one before it's too late. My first Shaman, which I'm looking forward to taking for a spin.

Re: Meer Kat
The Hap 40 Meerkat was one of my first Spydercos and I love it... since it's almost impossible to close unless you know the trick, I can't really imagine it closing unintentionally.

I like that faded look from the aquarium! Reminds me of the lovely "Ivory" Stretch from a couple of years ago, which I'm still kicking myself for not buying.

Re: Stretch in k390
Apologies for my choice of words! I appreciate that special materials will cost more, and I don't mind paying more for metal that is superior in some way. My remark concerned the price difference between the ZDP Endura and the ZDP Stretch; possibly because the ZDP Endura was such a bargain, the less...

Re: Stretch in k390
I don't care which blade shape it gets, I just hope it doesn't maintain the ZDP price strategy of being way more expensive than an Endura - for no discernible reason. FRN plus rip-off pricing ain't my thing.

Re: Looking for SpydieChef feedback
Yes I realised just after posting that your Caribbean is going to have just as much blade as the Pacific... and the Caribbean is probably overall a nicer knife!
I have been trying to decide which one of these to get for a while - having concluded the Spydiechef is probably too posh for me.

Re: Looking for SpydieChef feedback
What about that green Pacific Salt thing? Doesn't that have a longer blade in the same metal? (That said, the main reason dedicated kitchen knives tend not to be folders is cleanliness - any folding knife is going to accumulate gunge around the pivot, no matter how thoroughly washed. I admit it's fu...

Re: Spidiechef XL?
I have a set of the non-folding Victorinox tomato knives and they're terrific! I don't know what metal they use but I am quite sure it's not the blunt-o-matic they use in Spartans etc. And if it is, for some reason they can be used every day at mealtimes and still be decently sharp years later. The ...

It's as clear as the day is short and grim that this colour is everyone's favourite... phthalo turquoise!
Though I haven't seen a blue K390 in person so it may indeed be "distinctive blue color"...

Re: What do you think of metal handles?
My favourite knife right now is the MKM Root which is a titanium slipjoint. It's a smaller knife so the Ti just feels solid, rather than burdensome. It's such a well designed knife that the untextured metal isn't a problem either.

Re: Poll for alternating annual seconds sales between online and in-person
I added up the MSRPs of all the seconds I bought at one sale and they totalled almost $3800.... The deals are just a bonus. Obviously if you're a big spender then those bargains add up and justify the travel expenses, etc. And I hadn't considered the social aspect - not often you meet a bunch of kn...
