Spyderbite, if you check out the video series on the Sharpmaker, done by Sal himself, on YouTube it will give you a pretty good idea about edge angles and a better understanding of a back bevel and why it is important. A 40 degree inclusive is a good angle for a user, and you don't need to go with a...

Ohio just passed a no texting while driving law, it's a pretty hefty fine I hear. The law also limits drivers under 18 from using any electronic device while in the car. From how the local news made it sound it is not an offense that a driver can be pulled over for, so it doesn't really make sense t...

My first car was a 93 Ford Ranger had it for 6 years when I got a new truck, another Ranger - great little trucks, I gave it to my cousin for 500 bucks, it had 322k on it and he is still driving it on his farm. Too bad they stopped making them I guess they figured there were enough out there to last...

Dropped my para into a pool ;) no damage. But I did drop my Manix off a scaffold from about 15 feet up onto a pallet of block, it was closed and didn't open, also no significant damage, some minor scratches though.

Any Non-Stainless Projects on the Horizon?

I think I'm starting to find my niche as far as blade steel goes, and non-stainless tool & die steel seems to lure me like no other. I really like the look of a nice patina, what can I say. It seems that most of the offerings in these alloys preform well above my expectations, maybe I'm still to...

AR's are a pita to clean no matter what. The piston guns are going to run much cleaner longer and you will avoid a lot of carbon build up on the internals. I find the piston stays relatively clean also, but needs to be adjusted properly to stay that way, and with certain ammo that can be a challenge...

I don't own any in the sage line so I can't really compare them, but I love my Native it was one of the only knives I knew I had to have before I got to handle it. I like the S35VN I am able to get it stupid sharp, unlike other steels, it takes an edge quickly and holds a useable edge for a good whi...

I have two super tucks one for a sig p220 carry and one for a glock 30. Both are very comfortable but a little pricey. I think Galco has sort of a ripoff of the supertuck that looks well built. In the summer I like the Galco southern comfort, it's a little less cumbersome and when it's hot that's ni...

If you would like a Manix in a CPM-M4 I do believe Bento Box Shop still has a stock of them (haven't checked in a while so don't quote me) it is a little more pricey than the others mentioned but I prefer the feel of the Manix over the para2, but you can't go wrong with the GB, it's been in my pocke...

I think Remington bought out Bushmaster so either one would be ok. Yes Remington has owed Bushmaster for about 2 years now but I don't know if that's a good thing. Don't get me wrong most of my long distance comp rifles use the 700 as a base platform, but I feel that Bushmasters QC has dropped sinc...

I own both a Stag and a LWRC. I have owned 5 Stags 1 piston and 4 DI and never had any problems with them. The LWRC was my first piston and I still shoot it from time to time in 3 gun comp. but I like the Stag for the value and service. The 6.8 is a nice round and all but I don't deer hunt and can't...

Maybe at $600 for a CF/S90v one in 5 years but money often brings things out of hiding. But what if your the one 5 years from now that has the knife. :) I think what the op is asking what knives would fetch a premium down the road, basically IMHO that is impossible to know. I don't own a ton of kni...

I would love one. And I agree about the stainless bolsters instead of brass. I have a solid brass pen (Hinderer investigator pen) and it leaves my hands smelling funky after I use it. I love the color of brass though and wouldn't be opposed to it.

I have the same version of the Manix 2 and it has served me well. I carried it everyday for about a year. But I have heard about manix's in the near future being S30V blade steel, not sure if they will include the DLC blades or not (don't see why not though). Great knife I'm sure you will soon find ...
