Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Always... ...after a shower, change of clothes, the S90V Native Chief goes in my right pocket of my clean new jeans. ....wake up in the morning, slip on some jeans...push the S90V Native Chief into the right hand corner, tight, hard right, of my jeans. ...throw on a pair of shorts, grab my S90V Nati...

Re: What are ya drinkin????

Man does not live by coffee alone.... I had 3 Goose Island Matilda beers. I felt a little something, but I drink so infrequently I think I'll be buying some spiced rum and drinking that from now on. I still weigh 200lbs and I want to get a solid buzz. I don't drink casually, I drink to get a solid b...

Re: Martial Arts Experiences Discussion Thread

... Guys who think that you must be in top athletic condition for self-defense are delusional, and are setting themselves up to fail when they themselves are too old to keep up with the younger guys. They will also probably be too CTE'd-out to even defend themselves against a 'Nurse Ratched' in a c...

Re: If you could have any knife in magnacut, why would you opt for another steel?

For all of my folders and fixed blades under 4.5 inches, I wish they were S90V. For all of my folders and fixed blades 4.5 inches and up to 6.5 inches I'd prefer Magnacut. For all fixed blades over 7 inches and up to 24 inches, I'd prefer 4V or S7. If 4V is not as tough or edge holding as Magnacut t...

Re: Martial Arts Experiences Discussion Thread

Politics in MA is the main reason I left Facebook.I was told not to repost certain people's posts. I had many conversations in private to avoid problems, but that meant that while I could follow everyone, I could not comment to the people in public. It was bad news and I wanted O.U.T. The other pro...

Take-Out Dunkin Donuts Extra Large Coffee!!!

I probably have 4 or more of these a week. If I'm not doing a drive through to get one, I grind Dunkin beans and make one at home.

Re: Martial Arts Experiences Discussion Thread

Ouch! Thanks for sharing your experience and the video. The eye is no joke. The worst pain I ever felt was once, 40+ ago during sparring, an opponent wearing those cheap, foam-dipped, Jhoon Rhee-designed Saf-T Punch (or whatever they were called) gloves missed my face with a left punch, but his thu...

Re: Knife Laws are weird to me.

I would agree that this is a very reasonable viewpoint for jurisdictions where you can’t trust the authorities, or where only a suspect handful operate all the levers of justice. If we could trust everyone, there would be no need for laws at all. .... I trust in the Bill of Rights. I also trust eve...

Knife Fight: Fantasy vs Reality Video below. The reality part was basically what happened many years back, when a 3rd-degree black belt Tae Kwon Do instructor i was acquainted with, and who owned a big school of his own, asked me to be his attacker, so he could practice his knife defenses more real...

Re: Knife Laws are weird to me.

I don't yet have the book but it is called, "Three Felonies a Day" and it is a story about how if the US Feds want you, they can follow you and find that you have broken 3 esoteric felonies every day, and put you away for a decade or longer. This whole thing about laws around the 2nd Amend...

Re: Mule Team XL?

IF it could be brought to reality I'd buy a 5 to 5.5 inch Spyderco Native Chief XL. Keep the same proportions for everything, just lengthen it from 4, to a 5 or 5.5 inch blade. If you make it 25% to 33% larger everywhere, that's it.

It may be an excellent fixed blade.

Re: Good Jeans

I wear Levis because they are not part of the right wing conspiracy trend. Wrang!ers, Duluth, and Carharts are too right wing red neck for my taste. There are denim snob companies that make 22 to 40 ounce denim. Screw that lol.Way too stiff and heavy. Jeans wear out. Buy more lol Funny, I stopped b...

Re: Knife Laws are weird to me.

Pretty much any restriction on the carry of common weapons or tools of any sort is a step toward tyranny as far as I can tell from the entire history of the world. I have never seen evidence that restricting self defense makes anyone safer, but I have seen evidence to the contrary. Quite frankly, m...

Re: Street Steel Book Review

Im curious to know why your thought process for a book about how to pick and carry knives, receives its credibility based on how many knife fights the author has been in, without even knoeing the author. I can't think of any other domain where you can somehow be an expert without having ever actual...

I trust the book is good, but at the moment I cannot afford it. "Street Steel" is almost $300 on Amazon.

@MichaelJanich would you please reprint this book? I'd like to buy a copy!!!!
