Re: cold steel mayhem!
wow. Is that post meant to be serious? More deaths are associated with stabbings from gas station knives or cheap blade than anything else. Definitely not any high end knives or cold steel folders. ****, a modern $50 folder is better than what most murders are committed with. How often are you havi...

Yup, very obvious fakes. It took them years to get around to the standard Para 3.

I don't think there are any counterfeit P3 lightweights yet. The G-10 fakes just showed up last year.

Re: So who "invented" the finger choil?
Spydiewiki dates the original aluminum handle Renegade as 1993, and the first Dragonfly as 1994. Which one actually came first?

Rex 45.
4V, M4, Cruwear (G-10), 10V and K390 are also nice, if you can find one. I will not be adding Crucarta to my very large PM2 collection, due to the thin show side scale issue.

Re: Lightweight Yojimbo?
I, too, have worn out locks on Endura Trainers; however, I don't think the issue lies mainly with the lock geometry. I personally think it's the low-carbon AUS-6 blades not being as resilient as the more capable blade steels used on the live blades. Yes, I also believe that the trainer blade steel ...

Re: Lightweight Yojimbo?
As an MBC student, I would definitely not feel comfortable using a hypothetical Yo2LW for SD or training if it were constructed like a P3LW. It would be less sturdy and move the balance point forward. Regarding back lock versus comp lock, I greatly prefer the Native/Chief back lock, and I have no pr...

Re: Prototype to production
I started asking for a Spyderco Native Chief XL a week or three ago. It would be a great knife. Could I wait 2 years? Sure. I think it's an excellent idea and I'd buy 3 as long as I have the funds. But 20 years? I mean, sure as long as I am alive, but in reality I don't know if I'll be alive in 2 y...

Re: Why not have smooth liners?
Only the base model Manix has unskeletonized liners. All of the upgrade steel versions are skeletonized, which reduces their weight by more than half an ounce. Skeletonization is a premium feature, and the only reason they don't mill them out on the base Manix is to reduce production costs.

Looks pretty good for a keychain knife
I'll be looking forward to the Chief equivalent.

Re: Best PM2 in either M390/204P/20CV
Peters confirmed the bad Lionsteel HT. The guy who did the Rockwell testing isn't a member of the knife community, and his technical background has been fully vetted. That table is by far the most comprehensive database of knife HRC currently available, and there is no valid reason to question its v...
