Re: A Gayle Bradley 2 in Cruwear!

A tale of two packages. I ordered one of these then a few minutes later I ordered a second. Both orders were picked up at the same exact time. One order was in Colorado yesterday. The other is just now in Tennessee. Both packages are going to the same west coast address. Outstanding job, FedEx.

Re: A Gayle Bradley 2 in Cruwear!

I have aftermarket micarta scales from sharp dressed knives and RC. I actually have micarta scales on the M4 GB2. My preference would be SDK over RC all things equal.

Re: Will the FO sharpen factory seconds?

Maxamet is really not THAT bad to sharpen. I highly recommend the cbn rods for the sharpmaker. I agree, but the OP clearly isn’t a knife sharpening person. Jumping straight into maxamet could prove quite the challenge to someone with no sharpening background. I also find it slightly amusing that th...

The handle on the CF/G10 stock GB2 handle has a bit of a contour to it, right? Are the ones in the exclusive just flat?
I have two. I’m not aware of any contour to the scales.

I’m excited for this knife. The GB2 is one of spyderco’s best offerings and having a new, perhaps more manageable, steel is quite exciting.

We have port-o-lets coming Wednesday. Until then, there are Port-o-lets set up for the workers building the expansion.

Re: Reveal 14 teaser from September's byte

I was at blade west. Didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary at the spyderco booth.

Truthfully, that spyderco offers a compendium of upcoming models is a benefit to us that isn’t owed in any form. When they release the release is up to them.

Does anyone here EDC the yojumbo? Is it a decent carry blade? Any pitfalls to carrying a blade in that style? (laws aside)
I do at times. Be careful with the tip. I broke mine off with typical use.

Spyderco, I sure would like something new; my interest is flagging a bit. Having said that, let’s enumerate the blowback I’ll get for uttering this sacrilege: 1) You don’t need more knives, you don’t even use all the knives you have. 2) Don’t be impatient. You need to learn patience. Be patient. MO...

I’ve lost knives at secondary inspection in Blaine. Twice.

If you bring a knife, don’t take anything you can’t afford to donate to a Canadian trash bin.
What knives were they?
Delica and a backlock buck knife.

How about a gb1 with contoured black linen micarta scales ?
Linen micarta is typically polished and this too smooth for a knife whose inherent design demands use.

Enjoying my coffee, I forgot about the drop. Logged on here to see what Spyderco insights had been made overnight, discovered I had missed the drop, and leisurely ordered two Mules. Wish FOMO purchases on the internet were always this smooth. It’s more than “fomo”. It’s flipper deterrent. When the ...

In case you aren’t able to visit in person, spyderco sells more than just spyderco knives, like Randall and these wild looking customized knives. https://i.imgur.com/doGGMa1.jpg https://i.imgur.com/kdOMkWG.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ryVIOPE.jpg https://i.imgur.com/reehOKq.jpg https://i.imgur.com/cBNj0Q...

Magnacut rust from pocket carry

This was a pocket carried knife. Obviously it’s not a spyderco blade but it is magnacut steel. I wonder how magnacut will fare as a salt series steel given how this knife picked up rust from simply being carried in a pocket.

Got two in person on Tuesday. Opened them up right now. Sort of wish they didn’t have the logo on the right side. It’s basically a big black blob and looks ugly. Many probably won’t agree with me but these are my thoughts.
