Thanks for all the great answers and comments. I tend to like my flat grind knives a bit more. Chinese folder Swiss army but i would love to see a wegner style flat but i guess if it is inteded for skinning hollow grind is better.

The first thing I noticed was that the blade was much longer that it looked opened that it did when closed when you open it seams to erupt from it handle. The hump gives the impression that it ends much earlier that it actually doe...

i'm sure it is the ultimate SD knife but i bet i could used it as the UP (Ulitmate Picnic) knife. i also like the idea of the best UD knife being used for cutting cheese to go with merlot.

I just saw a photo of this janich/snody knife and i thought i would be perfect as a picnic knife for cutting cheese, sausage and the like. the blade would make flat contact with the cutting board. the flat grind is great for cutting food. this size seems right for picnic basket carry. does anybody e...

i agree with joe's break down of knives but i might add for fixed blades the temperance looks alot like a chef's knife. flat grind and so forth. i don't think it is as robust as the moran but very food "preppy" looking.

i would agree with j. smith. how ever i have both a 40/60 wegner and a p.e. and i really love them. i do wish there was a flat ground version. but as i belive it was designed for sinning i think thoughs knives tend to be hollow ground, so as not to cut to deep. i could be wrong on this. i know are l...
