Caught this fellow in the grass last week. Speckled Kingsnake. He was pretty feisty at first, but once I picked him up and let him move freely around on my hand and arm he calmed right down. I've seen bigger - this one was probably about 3 feet long.

So sorry to hear about this, Rick! I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you, her friends and family, especially after all this time has passed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of her circle.

Re: Sandrin Torino On-going EDC review (pic heavy)
Yep I saw it. It's a nice variation, although personally I like the "utility" look of the red G-10. What I'd rather see is a longer blade! I just reread back through this thread. Such great work you did here. I haven't done these kinds of reviews in a while now, but man it sure makes me r...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
After a looong time of non-Spyderco EDC, I'm back with the Byrd Meadowlark Rescue SE. Used it yesterday to open some pallets at work; literally the weight of the knife was enough to glide through the wrapping material. Also cut up some cardboard. Today I opened some bags of softener salt, and cut a ...

Re: What Are You Reading ?
I'm working my way through Will and Ariel Durant's magnum opus, The Story of Civilization (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Story_of_Civilization). It's something like 11,000 pages, so it's going to take me a while. I've just started volume 2 (of 11). Wow! That'll take some dedication, but it shou...

Re: What Are You Reading ?
I just finished reading The Case of the Musical Cow by Erle Stanley Gardner over the weekend. For the past several months I have been working my way through Dio's Rome, and I am about to finish Book 4 of 6, dealing with the short reign of Gaius Caesar Augustus Germanicus (better known by his childho...

Re: What Are You Reading ?
Hey! Looks really interesting Doc. I will have to see if I can steal my wife's Kindle to read it. ;) Let me know how you like it. It is not overly long, about the length of a Louis L'amour book. It was well enough received that I have had requests for a sequel. Awesome Doc, can't wait to read it. H...

Re: Manix 2 Maxamet
I've used mine hard and I love it. It's a fantastic knife - extremely lightweight yet very robust, one of the best locking mechanisms out there. I have not had any issues whatsoever with it, in fact it's one of my favorite and most carried knives!
