Well, I'm 24. Only a year older than you. I've been into knives for about 12 years but during my teenage years I was more like your friends who "collect knives." I bought mostly cheap flea market style knives. Except for the Victorinox Swiss Army Knives I bought during those years. I still...

I have to agree with Deacon on this. I think you may be jumping the gun just a little on being upset. Many sellers I've dealt with who had ebay stores of that size weren't able to have a lot of contact with the buyers becuase there were simply so many of them. As long as you've paid for the item I w...

Lucky is absolutely the word

Lucky is absolutely the word here where I live. The only knife law in place as to ownership and carry is that minors (defined as under 18) cannot carry butterfly knives. My local dealers all sell autos and butterfly knives and have pretty decent selections but I don't mean to brag so I'll stop now. :D

Spyderfly question for Sal...

I was told by Spyderco customer service a couple of months ago that Spyderco has a 3" blade version of the Spyderfly in R&D. I'm wondering if this smaller version will be exactly like the original Spyderfly just in a smaller size or if it will be a whole new smaller design. Perhaps somethin...

Their new Model 630 the Skirmish has a round hole. And the original AFCK and the Eclipse model had a round hole as well. I don't know if the original Ascent had a round hole or not.

That's true about the Calypso Jr. being basically a mini-Manix but it's not available in G-10 nor is it still in production.

Oh yeah, and I'm definitely all about the production G-10 Native as well. While I'm throwing out ideas maybe give that G-10 Native a liner or compression lock as well.

Truth is I've got a mind that's always working on some idea. I'm a what if kind of guy and I like to experiment and see how different ideas will work out. Lately I've been throwing out everything that I've brain-stormed in the Spyderco arena just to see what everyone thinks. The two ideas I've come ...

Please?

I'd really love to see a Mini-Mannix in the future. I'm a big fan of the Mannix design but it's just too big for me. I haven't bought one yet because I'll never carry it because of that fact. I'd love to see one in approximately a 7" overall length.

G-10 Native

I second that. I'd love to see a production G-10 Native out. I don't think you could beat that knife for function and performance.

What about a smaller model...

Sal

Any chance we'll see a more compact version of that new D'Allara? Something about 4" closed with a 2.75-3.0" blade. I've been wanting to see Spyderco bring out a ball-bearing lock in that size ever since the introduction of the ball lock.

Gloves, what gloves?

I'll be honest with you, I don't really wear gloves. The advantages I find in the ball lock are strength and lack of blade play. Honestly, every lockback I've ever owned has had front to back blade play due to the lock mechanism. The ball lock in my experience is also capable of putting up with more...

Native III suggestion...

I was looking at the Native III tonight and I had an epiphany. I think that a ball-bearing lock would be a great addition to this knife. I absolutely love this knife design and I've become a huge fan of the ball lock mechanism. I think it would make a huge improvement to an already amazing knife.

New D'Allara

I'm sure I read something on the forums here at some point that said there is going to be an update in the future of the D'Allara Rescue model that is going to incorporate a drop point blade. I'm sure that I saw this and I just want to make sure that I wasn't dreaming. I'm also wondering what the ch...

If the compression lock could be done with a single liner I'd love to see one on a G-10 Delica.

How about another update

While we're at it why not give this G-10 Delica a compression lock or even a ball-lock to update it even more.

Knife in checked bag.

I happen to know someone who works TSA and can tell you with absolute certainty that it is 100% legal to carry a knife in a checked bag. I have heard stories of knives being taken under the pretense of confiscating them although I've never experienced this personally and there have been no complaint...

I like the wire clip idea. I think it's a huge improvement over previous clip designs. I'm also all for the linerless idea but I wonder would the lockback work effectively with no liners?

If a I read your response right that's kind of the point. I'd like to see a new knife that takes the place of those older models but the idea I've suggested makes it the modification of a current model rather than the creation of something entirely new or the resurrection of a discontinued model.
