Re: Best Defense in attempted mugging/assault?

This is exactly the way I behave. Don’t be in places that invite assault. Be aware of those around you. I agree. How I try to behave as well. Situational awereness can help in extracting yourself from a potentially sticky situation. Because with our society literally crumbling before our eyes and i...

Re: Who's for replacing ZDP-189 with HAP40 laminate in regular production?

HAP 40 doesn't appeal to me. I've never used it but it doesn't appear to be a steel I'm interested in. Not that interested in ZDP either although I have two Spyderco's with ZDP. Cost benefit just isn't their for me with either of these steels. The BD1N at high rockwell sounds like a winner so I am ...

Re: V-Toku2 Endura

I am really enjoying mine, especially after I swapped the stock clip for a blue MXG deep carry. I’m generally building my Spyderco collection as a “type” one. This means I'm TRYING to stick to only one example of each model that interests me. The V-Toku2 sprint is a fine representative of the Endur...

Re: Who's for replacing ZDP-189 with HAP40 laminate in regular production?

Im a fan of both HAP and ZDP. I agree with jdw's post below:7 I would be against it. I think that there is more than enough HAP-40/REX 45 in sprints and exclusives to go around. I think that it's very cool that Spyderco still offers a steel as high of quality as ZDP-189 in its value line of folders....

I honestly hope this isn't a one-and-done sort of affair with this steel.

Re: Best Defense in attempted mugging/assault?

I only now logged on and perused the notifications. Running away is rarely the way to decrease crime in an area. The post you quote wasnt about 'decreasing crime.' (no idea what prompted you to think so). Iits about 'tactical avoidism,' as another forum member coined it :) ' What an excellent term B...

Re: V-Toku2 Endura

Some posted about the text on the V-Toku2 in another thread. On my Endura it looks just fine. Not that I care that much about that, as this is a user.

I’ve been carrying her for a while and it’s indeed an excellent slicer and YES mine came razor sharp out of the box. Love this knife :)
Sounds good.

V-Toku2 Endura

Ive been pretty happy with my Endura Zome VG10 and have always been quite satisfied with my Spyderco VG10 knives in general. I am certainly not amongst those turning up their noses at this excellent kitchen and folding knife steel. How ever, when there was a chance to buy a Spyderco in V-Toku2, I ju...

Nice review and good comparison pics. Big fan of the 3 and didnt think, Idd replace it but the 4 sounds nice. As for your girlfriends brush, thats not usually something divulged in knfe tests ;) Remind me to not buy a used knife from you :D IM KIDDING😊 You might want to word that in a different way....

Re: Best Defense in attempted mugging/assault?

In this type of situation, what is the best thing to do to protect yourself? You are walking alone whether in an urban or rural setting and you notice an individual who was loitering in the vicinity, immediately begin to follow you, and even at a fast-paced angle in your direction, and you sense an...

Re: Is it Time for a New Camo Pattern?

I'm interested in hearing what others think. Would you like to see Spyderco offer a new camo pattern for the Military/PM2/P3 series of knives? Here goes. Im most likely in the minority on the below counts. Having been paid to wear camo, I try to avoid camo items and camo clothing (except when hunti...

Re: Spyderco Puukko 2018

I wish the Puukko would be revisited, It's unique amongst production knives since the geometry was killer thin It didn't sale well from my point of view because of the steel selection not the design. I feel the biggest mistake was using S30v with that beautiful thin geometry. Not a good choice for ...

Re: The SE mentality shift

Spyderco serrations are awesome... .... but I take it you are not a hunter? Honest question, as I couldnt get by with only SE knives as a hunter. You presumably have a bunch of PE knives and may use them for that purpose. As for snagging, I seem to remember Mr. Janich posting, that he preferred PE ...

Re: The SE mentality shift

Cliff Notes: SE is the shih tzu and I'm seriously considering not buying anymore PE knives in the future. A few years ago some of you might remember a thread I made about carrying nothing but SE for 6 months. Back then I didn't even own a Sharpmaker, and part of my goal with that journey was to for...
