I think it speaks for itself. As for not making the stop due to the pentagon, the story I heard was that he was allowed to go, but the pentagon wouldn't let him take cameras onto the base with him. He was allowed to go as a private citizen and pay his respects to the troops, but instead he opted ou...

Endura and a Sharpmaker. I'd recommend Plainedge, serrated is fine. The Endura is one of the standard field knives. It's also a bargain, and that matters in environments where stuff happens, i.e. the real world. -And as has been said, the ability to keep it sharp is really more important than whiche...

I'm a cop; a dog-handler, patrol and explosives detection. That means we look for bad guys where it's too dangerous to send the patrol cops, and for bombs, in the number one terrorist target in the nation. -No pressure. ;) It's good, because I don't expect to live to be an old man anyway. Which brin...

You are quite correct. Back/mid lock knives without the Boye dent are easier to press, meaning to unlock. That's the point. The function of that design is to make the accidental unlocking of the blade, as in under stress or high pressure grip, less likely. Your personal preference may actually be fo...

I find the Seb remarkably comfortable to use. The handle is fine, functional; no hot spots, etc. -But my favorite feature (I have a Large Regular) is the blade shape. I chose the regular over the classic for this reason specifically. The belly of the blade is in precisely the right spot for working ...

...a knife can bring pleasure from more than just cutting well. Absolutely, we agree. But that's a given here and isn't my question. My question is: what is the opinion of other knife people about this? I do like my Sebenza, very much, enough to pay the price of admission, and to carry and use it o...

Oh well, you have to go with what you're good at. ;) tortoise, you have raised an excellent question. This is an issue that my good buddy flipe8 and I have discussed at le...

One or Many?
A current thread in the Spyderco forum, as well as much personal experience, has brought this question to the forefront of my mind. I've pondered it for a long time now, but never really sought the opinions of knife knuts (sorry, "knife people." ;) ) I wonder what you think. I shall assume...

A few I have from a Passaround review I did a couple of years ago. The Seb is a Large Regular. It's shown with a Paramilitary, a Military and a Rat Trap. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v111/tortoise/overall.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v111/tortoise/boxcutters.jpg http://img.photobucket....

I vote Sebenza. The pivot bushing alone makes the decision easy. It means precision assembly, precision fit and precision function, every time, even after you take it apart for cleaning. -No loosening pivots, no finding improvised tools (since a proper tool is not made available to the user) to tigh...
